And where's that bloody socialism this crétin is talking about !?

The only failure I see is the government screwing over common folks, making tax cuts for the rich, paving the way to the Elysée for the far-right with the help of 90% of the media, and being an absolute orgy of inefficient morons and willing assholes.

Eight Ministers of Education in ten years ! No wonder kids are in the streets right now, how are you supposed to do anything with that !? Gabriel Attal who's done this job is now campaigning against what he put in place himself. Espèce d'abruti congénital, you're the one who did it in the first place !

Yeah I'm a bit salty.

In France, the overall rate of compulsory levies—which encompasses all taxes, duties, and social security contributions collected by public authorities—stands at 43.6% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2025, according to data from INSEE. This level places France among the developed nations with the highest rate of compulsory levies within both the European Union and the OECD.

112

u/URMRGAY_ 15h ago

That's actually impossible how the fuck can you think with a straight face that 43.6% of the GDP of any country is tax, that rediculous. That'd only be possible with ~90% tax on every single transaction and movement of money in the country.

That’s how modern education works in the west “I see big number next to letters I get mad, don’t know what any of it means, I just know I’m mad!”

u/classphoto92 12h ago

Holy crap! I just finished the first episode of Knowledge Fight Country and the dude they were talking about said almost exactly this.

2

u/ToiletTime4TinyTown 8h ago

Holy fuck, I didn’t know Dan had picked up and started doing a new show, thanks for mentioning it, I’ve been wrestling with Knowledge Fight being done with being thankful for why it is.

TIL that socialism is when the government does stuff. Especially when it taxes and has bare minimum social programs.

75

u/Only1Sully 18h ago

A country holding their government to account. USA talks a big game but lets their government walk all over them.

u/amcneel 13h ago

Macron is not socialist at all, he's center-right. France is not socialist since 10 years.
Understandable mistake from somebody who voted for a far-right condamned senile pedophile who enrich himself as much as it makes the country he "manages" look like a pathetic joke. We didn't pledge allegiance to Russia, nor started a war almost instantly lost with Iran.
They can't understand basic politics or they would have vote differently and won't make comments that dumb.

-158

u/djikkers 16h ago

if macron is not socialist, then why the socialist francois hollande pick up Macron ?

78

u/invock 16h ago

Because, spoiler alert: Hollande wasn't all that socialist either.

21

u/Kazaan 16h ago

That was before Macron’s betrayal of Hollande.

80

u/Caledonian_kid 18h ago

Maybe if Americans protested more they'd have a decent healthcare system, paid leave, paid maternity, more affordable tertiary education, less police violence...

10

u/IProbablyCantSleep 8h ago

To be fair police violence is a huge problem especially during the protests recently - under Macron police have been suppressing more and more violently. In France protesting is protected as a right (though there are of course specific criteria to be met for a protest to be a legal one), but in recent years police (under government orders) have been suppressing legal protected protests in progressively more violent ways. Even not being part of the protest doesn't protect you; the police will go after anyone remotely in the area, especially if you're not white. There have also been quite a few videos of plain clothed police being caught slipping into the protest and starting attacks on people, businesses or even other police in the hopes of others following them, so that the riot police have justification to go all out.

This current round of protests we've seen beatings, people being maimed (eyes, teeth or hands/fingers ripped off), police drowning children to "teach them a lesson" (not to the point of death, just holding them underwater), and so much more. It's important to remember that right now a LOT of the protesters are high schoolers protesting the state of schools (horrendous but I wont go into detail) - so these are mostly children that are being beaten and maimed by police.

-36

u/crek42 11h ago

Making $100k puts you in the 1% of earners in France. Thats like 1 in 5 Americans making that. Its either a good place if you just want to do you job, dont really need much, and want a simple life. It’s a bad place if you want to excel and shoot for the moon.

10

u/WohooBiSnake 7h ago

Technically true for the numbers, however when you factor in the cost of life (say, how much Americans spend on health insurances, how much they spend on gas, etc…) you have a very different picture.

Looking at the quality of life, France seems to range around the same level as the US depending on the index used, sometimes a little bit above, sometimes a little bit better.
Meaning with a lesser salary, you can still buy yourself just as good as a life.

And of course you do not have to worry about affording your treatments or getting shot at school :)

u/Introspective_Pict 5h ago

Plus France has actual food as opposed to whatever the corn-imbued stuff the US produces is defined as.

Im confused... All i see in that photo is a lot of people taking part in France's favorite pastime..

16

u/Osric250 14h ago

I thought their favorite pastime was fighting the British. I guess things have changed over the years.

18

u/imnotreallyapenguin 14h ago

Thats their second favorite pastime.. If they cant fight themselves... They fight us.

Its nice to see newcomers to their culture, really take it to heart

u/FreedomsPower 17h ago edited 8h ago

The JokesOnWokes subreddit appears to be a very sketchy subreddit where only a handful of regular redditors post the same content across multiple subreddits and recieve karma upvotes not proportional to the level of redditor engagement .

8

u/blazingblitzle 12h ago

There is nothing more culturally French than setting fire to half the city during the protest.

10

u/goebelwarming 9h ago

Nothing to do with socialism. The French just like to riot. This is their 5th republic

25

u/klagaan 20h ago

I m French, living in usa. When I retire, I will go back to france.

They don't understand what is happening in France right now (I think We can say we are the best one on strike 😁)

6

u/curleyfries111 10h ago

Now THATS how you start a riot

21

u/Alum06 14h ago

seeing immigrants riot like this is surely a sign of them being well integrated into french culture, i fail to see the problem here

-13

u/JoeSicko 12h ago

Are they wearing immigrant uniforms? France did have a lot of colonies, for a while...

36

u/Alienex22 16h ago

I'm french and yes they are ruining France. When the Pope was in Paris, there were over 500,000 people. No shops were looted...

-7

u/JoeSicko 12h ago

I figured they stopped caring about Kings a while back.

-4

u/thomasp3864 4h ago

Shame. You might be losing your edge. It's a shame to see a tradition over 200 years old only be upheld by immigrants. Like wine, baguettes, riöting, escargot, cheese, stripy grey and white t shirts, mimes, this is what France is known for.

26

u/DaGonzzz28 17h ago

Who in France is doing majority of the rioting then? Lmao

-9

u/oclart 15h ago

French people

-7

u/ovaltine_jenkins-- 11h ago

In the feeble leftist mind, simply arriving in France makes you just as French as someone whose family have been there for generations….astounding

2

u/thomasp3864 4h ago

No, this is a thing the French specifically are known for. It's like complaining about immigrants to France beïng winos.

0

u/DaGonzzz28 10h ago

With that logic that means that the Europeans that came to America are Americans and they aren’t on stolen land. Idk what the Native Americans are on about then! Lmao

10

u/flopsychops 11h ago

0

u/Scary-Ratio3874 4h ago

You're saying people from other countries don't talk shit about the USA?

6

u/Critical_cheese 4h ago

How are they not? Have you seen Paris?

0

u/slpsquadleader 3h ago

Never paid attention to French politics or history before huh

1

u/Critical_cheese 3h ago

I have and actively do but please enlighten me

-1

u/slpsquadleader 3h ago

If you did you would know this is part of what French people do. They've been doing this for hundreds of years at this point. Even if this were all immigrants (which it very obviously isnt) if anything that would prove their frenchness lmao. Time honored tradition

0

u/Critical_cheese 46m ago

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

•

u/slpsquadleader 23m ago

Wow congrats you watch movies

-2

u/SOMAVORE 1h ago edited 1h ago

clearly you dont know shit about France or the French

35

u/ApatureSilence 14h ago

They are though. French people are not the ones rioting. Wake up.

3

u/thomasp3864 4h ago

If they riöt like that, they are French. It's something that the French have become known for. 1789, 1830, 1832, 1848, 1848, 1848, 1849, 1869, 1871, 1880, 1891, 1893, 1907, 1919, 1926, 1934, 1936, 1947, 1958, 1961, 1968, 1979, 1984, 1991, 1992, 1995, 1998, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2023, 2024, 2026.

And there are probably gaps of unrecorded rebellions in the 19th to early 20th century. Point is, French people riot all the time. Vive cette révolution!

8

u/juukaos 12h ago

Yes they are ? What kind of stupid take is that

2

u/OpBanana1 4h ago

All the people looting and destroying are visibly not French

-3

u/RogerOtter 12h ago

Please tell me you're joking. Pleeeeeease tell me you're not that close-minded.

Please at least confirm if you're not French.

You know what the current riots are for ?

Aside from the destruction that unfortunately happens when there's a movement like that, it's freaking high-schoolers (at first, they've been joined by others) manifesting. They're not doing it for the fucking fun of it. They're telling everybody willing to listen that not only their learning conditions are physically awful, like derelict buildings, as well as lacking teachers. Oh and on top of that? They're told to get a higher education, but there's no job even when they're qualified.

Putain sans déconner, j'en peux plus des gens qui pensent savoir et qui racontent de la merde.

1

u/thomasp3864 4h ago

With how often this happens in France, I could imagine doing it for the fun of it beïng a possibility.

31

u/djikkers 16h ago

It’s the truth: immigrants are a burden on the French economy—they cost far more than they contribute.

-5

u/JoeSicko 12h ago

Sounds like retirees.

37

u/akera099 15h ago

It actually did ruin France. Anyone saying otherwise hasn't actually lived there. Ask women how they feel about being catcalled and harassed everytime they go out. There's a reason why the RN has more and more support.

5

u/Inut0pia 13h ago

I’m a French woman and being catcalled doesn’t make me vote RN.

6

u/Foudre_Gaming 10h ago

Right? What a crazy thing to say

-23

u/ToiletTime4TinyTown 14h ago edited 12h ago

“Ask women how they feel about being catcalled”
Um, excuse me? The French men are known for being such natural horn dogs they were caricatured by a rapey skunk on cartoons. Also paternity tests are illegal in France because they will collapse your society faster than the Germans ever did.

Y’all hate when facts enter the discussion

19

u/someboringdude 12h ago

I’ve been working in and out of France and Europe for the last 20 years. I do a lot of business there and man France has gone to complete shit. My industry has been hit really hard in France. I have dozens and dozens of stories of my fellow jewelers being robbed, kidnapped, assaulted, scammed and all sorts of terrible things by migrants. Almost all of them either African or Arab criminals.

Last year , I was in Paris with a client of mine and my clients hotel suite was violently robbed at gunpoint by Africans. They came in tied him up. Stole all his jewelry and pistol whipped him. They even stole his clothes and underwear and colognes. Police was called and they did nothing. Hotel did nothing. Literally no one cared.

When we went to go switch hotels, staff was literally carefree and a few of them were even seeing laughing and mocking the situation. France sucks. I don’t know if it’s socialism or not but the migrant situation is out of hand.

-4

u/bleeh805 11h ago

Any news articles that back up your violent hotel room invasion? Or did you not report it? That seems like a major news event.

5

u/BookerCatchanSTD 11h ago

He just said no one cared, why would it be reported on?

-12

u/Dehnus 11h ago
  1. Sources please.
  2. What has that to do with this?

7

u/Slick-Fork 9h ago

Dude's literally sharing an experience directly related to the situation in France being depicted.

-5

u/KonungariketSuomi 9h ago

Anecdotes are not sources or evidence. Anyone can tell a story, but it doesn't mean shit until they can substantiate it. Otherwise we're lowering our standard of proof to merely hearsay, which opens a whole different can of worms.

7

u/monkeygoneape 8h ago

An anecdote is a primary source

1

u/KonungariketSuomi 7h ago edited 7h ago

An anecdote without evidence to substantiate it is just hearsay, sorry. Let's break that down for you.

I could make up a story about how any random minority individual assaulted me. That doesn't make it true unless I can provide evidence of the assault.

If he grabbed my shirt, his DNA would be on the shirt. If he beat me up, I'd have physical wounds. Stole my wallet? I guarantee there'll be a few fraudulent purchases or a loan taken out in my name.

There's a million and one ways to provide evidence for something as serious and violent as an armed robbery. The police would not just "do nothing" unless the report itself is fraudulent beyond a reasonable doubt—that is an outright lie, sorry.

Word of mouth and nothing more is not one of them. I'm sorry your racist self can't comprehend that.

edit: typo

-5

u/Dehnus 8h ago

Hmmmhmm, and he isn't talking about students protesting and that police has been extremely brutal about it. But nah.. you know it and are not at all brigading this sub sith a political motive.

5

u/Slick-Fork 8h ago

All I did was answer your #2. One could look at this and see it's simply about migrants and immigration.

5

u/ftez 7h ago

I love how as soon as someone comments disagreeing with your view, that you immediately conjure up a conspiracy theory as as to why they can't be genuine.

4

u/Trekman10 11h ago

Imagine thinking France is socialist

5

u/OpBanana1 4h ago

Have you not seeing the looting and destruction in Paris? It's immigrants doing that, you just choose to be ignorant

6

u/doctor_providence 19h ago

Insane, and delusional, and stupid, and dishonest, and uncurious, and ...

6

u/Kashkow 19h ago

The US descends I to riots or high profile stand offs every few years too. I think 'Socialism' has nothing to do with it.

6

u/DesertSpringtime 15h ago

We're protesting because we're NOT SOCIALIST ENOUGH.

9

u/tannoy1987 14h ago

Never see crowds of natives smashing up the town

4

u/JoeSicko 12h ago

France has had plenty of them. Look up some of the farmer protests.

1

u/NotBlackMarkTwainNah 6h ago

They've been doing it for 200 years

1

u/thomasp3864 4h ago

Except in France. Frenchmen have done this for over 200 years.

5

u/hikiyo 16h ago

Jealousy is real and sad you cant do it like them so you cry on a keyboard let people fight for their rights

3

u/acuet 14h ago edited 14h ago

“Clipping” images then gasslighting their social followers. It’s about faking ‘influence’ and allow the bots to push a story line they know isn’t real. These students, in college, were protesting in the EU against the future they feel won’t be there for them as they attend school or training. They are asking for change in the system, another thing because I see a lot of comments about this. Protests in Europe are NOT like protests in USA (Specifically).

Also, they are taking to the streets because of the extremely high prices on food and gas.

2

u/toomuchgirth- 9h ago

I cannot imagine there are still people out there thinking they aren’t…

2

u/thomasp3864 5h ago

This shit is a sign of their integration into French society. France has always had people try and pull off a revolution.

I've seen this frame pushed by the usual billionaire loving fascists so often.

Not the actual reason of schools being shit in France, especially in the poorer areas and that the police behaved like animals...even when parents, teachers and politicians tried to stop them from harming folks.

Countries with "socialism" rank higher than America on every single metric including happiness for decades and conservatives stay quiet. They see one fear mongering piece of news on fox about something bad happening in one country they wouldn't be able to point at on a map and they go "see I told you socialism was bad!"

Edit: I would like the people who vote me down to leave a comment explaining why since what I said was factually correct and America is like ranked 23rd on the happiness index while the "socialist" countries are all at the top. Don't get me started on the ranking of education levels etc.

Half of them sound like Americans; yeah sure of course, Africans with guns pistolwhipping people in their hotel room - pretty sure that'd be on news outlets, instead of hotel workers just laughing at them. People aren't desensitised to gun violence here like Americans are.

The only way that it's true is if it was 5 year olds with bright green water guns.

I find it so odd that these global events (protests in France, migrant caravans from Latin America) often happen near US elections.

8

We literally have then every two years, with tons of ads that start way before that. We only have very short lulls in between election cycles. So stop making this about anything other than France.

Yah, Trump and the other right wing parties are not at all conspiring to foment these. Because America would never!!
