Legal cara! Rsrs, estudie em Rio! Ha, he was the governator of California when I graduated so his signature appears on UC diplomas. My Portuguese isn't very good anymore but I loved living there. Mengão pra sempre!

See, this is rich people shit. Don't get rich to run a company, or be some important person. Get rich so you can have a nice meal with your pet pony.
I want to be that rich
23
u/Hicklethumb 10d ago
Arnie deserves it as well. He went to the US as an immigrant without financial backing. And he always honours those who helped him toward his success. His speech on not being a self made man is really inspiring.

u/Andrea_M 10d ago
You need a good soul to be like that. By the way, I know that Arnold isn’t perfect… but from what I gathered he is a good guy.
25
u/ForHelp_PressAltF4 10d ago
He matured. He also gets that people should support people, not dragon like hording of wealth.

Precisely this. Do I agree with all of his decisions/political views? No, but I can see what a genuinely decent human being he is. Anyone who loves animals like this is a solid human being in my book.

u/Loewenheart 10d ago
Putin took care of a dog in a lovely manner after it was mistreated by another politician (you can find this video easily). I wouldn’t agree on “Anyone”.

u/FacesOfNeth 10d ago
Yes, and Hitler probably enjoyed a nice meal occasionally too. Congratulations—you’ve discovered that terrible people can have individual moments of normal human behavior. My comment was about Schwarzenegger feeding his animals, not an invitation to assemble the “World’s Worst People Who Have Ever Been Nice to an Animal” list.

I was thinking about what I would do if I was filthy rich. First thing that came to mind was making a very, very expensive Willow musical.

You don't have to be that rich to have a small pony and/or donkey. Mostly based on where you live I guess.

Was thinking of this today. I miss the "old" rich people like Lil Wayne, Oprah, Bill Gates philanthropy. Rich people used to have a car collection and buy a weed farm or vineyard, nowadays they have to race towards an infinite goal of intelligence, money and power.
Wander into a store and buy all the arts/antiques, don't wander into DC and buy all the politicians 😂

u/Proglamer 10d ago

At least two of those have nasty scandals attached, and surprisingly the other one is Wayne

Depending on how far back you go for your "old" rich people, you could get fun ones like:
Banana company executives influencing US diplomacy, military, intelligence agencies to "do an imperialism".
Slave owners weaponising the law to keep their slaves.
Robber barons doing robber baron things.
Industrialists, annoyed that they can't just have slaves, building company towns, returning to good old indentured servitude (legally distinct from slavery!), violently suppressing efforts at unionisation or democratisation.
Jumping continents (though some of the first couple examples also happened in the US)...
Other industrialists happily throwing their weight behind the Nazis to suppress emerging socialist or communist ideas (and also to get slaves).
Rich folks sending out ships to do some proper imperialising (including so much slavery!)
Rich guys riding horses and wearing fancy armour paying mercenaries or using their own thugs to wage wars or suppress peasant or religious uprisings.
Those same guys thinking that maybe they should spend their wealth going on crusades.
Jumping back further in time...
Rich guys riding horses and wearing fancy armour (but different from those others, and also sometimes wearing fancy blankets and sandals) privately funding wars or using their wealth to push for wars to
protect the Republic from foreign threatsget famous, get rich, and enslave a whole bunch of people! Or start civil wars, and/or do a bunch of purging of political enemies.
Sure, there's been a lot of philanthropy and patronising of the arts, but even Pax Romana bringing Augustus, who "found Rome a city of bricks and turned it into marble", also waged a bunch of war, killed his political rivals, and enslaved people (somehow, slavery seems to be very appealing to these kinds of people).

Arnold frequently highlights his hands-on pet care: • Shoveling Poop as a Morning Routine: In a profile with The Atlantic, Arnold revealed that his day cannot start until he gets up at 6:00 AM, makes coffee, feeds his miniature horse (Whiskey) and donkey (Lulu), and shovels their overnight manure into a barrel. • Teaching His Grandkids: He told People Magazine that he is personally responsible for raising the animals and is even teaching his granddaughters how to clean the stables. He noted, "If you have to also do that, that's part of raising those animals". • The "No Thinking" Rule: On his YouTube channel and late-night show appearances, he outlines his rule of "acting without thinking" first thing in the morning. He physically gets out of bed, immediately feeds the stable animals their breakfast (oatmeal cookies), shovels their stalls, and rides his bike to the gym. If you are trying to find the exact footage of him doing this, it's best to look up "Arnold Schwarzenegger morning routine" on YouTube or read his newsletter, Arnold's Pump Club, where he regularly writes about the discipline of cleaning up after his pets.

u/Visible-Scientist-46 10d ago
Sure, that's probably correct, but that's not how Arnold told the story. He said he said it meant black plowman enjoyed being the black plowman in the Kennedy family.
3
u/ErilazHateka 10d ago
I was actually wrong and he is wrong as well. It means "person from Schwarzenegg" which is a place in Switzerland.
Confusion came from "Egge" being also an archaic word for "Earth".

This was decades ago. Over the years, everytime when he came back to germany to promote a new movie, I noticed that his austrian accent became less and turned more into standard german.
10
u/Younk187 11d ago
The way he pushed them away with his arm like dogs 😂😂😂
2
u/fotomoose 10d ago
Akshully equines are quite easy to push away, they are generally very sensitive to being pushed. You can do it with one hand in the right spot. Of course some are more stubborn than others, but ones that are used to being handled generally acquiesce without much fuss.

Now I'm wondering if the deer feeding scene in "Commando" wasn't scripted. A deer just came up to Schwarzenegger for a snack and they kept the camera rolling.
