NATURE Flamingos are not pink. They are born with grey/white feathers, which gradually turn pink in the wild because of a dye called canthaxanthin obtained from their diet of brine shrimp and blue-green algae. This is a baby flamingo.

As their infamous pink colour is attributed to their diet, could we feed them something which turns every shade of the rainbow?

Saying flamingos aren’t pink because they weren’t born pink is like saying I don’t have a mustache because I wasn’t born with a mustache.

I love stuff like this because it reveals that WHAT something is cannot be explained without its environment.

Flamingos are not pink
Actually they can be. Depends on their diet.

Exactly, they are pink. They aren't born pink.
This is like saying my car isn't red, it's just painted red.

So you read the first 4 words of the title and just thought, "Okay, I know more than everyone so Imma go drop some knowledge," didn't you?
It's okay to not immediately react to everything.
