During the Internship 2nd day at Internship felt weird
So hello everyone actually yesterday that's on 21 I joined everything was good office is good and all It takes me 3 hrs traveling(Total) for coming to office , my manager is so sweet and she is also the one who had taken my interview. The only problem is all the guys in my team are above 30 and I am just 21 and I am not able to bond much with them it feels boring on day 1 she made me learn everything and on day 2 she has given me a whole project and then I worked for almost 7-8 hrs completed the project validated it with a senior and She(manager) told me to do half hour overtime and recheck it again if any error is there I checked it twice already.
She told me that Friday is deadline for 14 projects as all of my team is on leave only me and her have to do it anyway. She told me she understood it's lot of work and she doesn't expect much from me but we have to do it anyhow.
I think I am getting a lot of work as an intern isn't it ?

There’s a certain merit to actually getting work and learning at your internship. Lot of friends of mine sat at a desk with no projects, scrolled tiktok, and learned nothing during their internships.

It’s all about how you frame it! Sometimes the way you think about something is all you have to change to thrive in a position haha

This is honestly a good problem to have. Most interns get little to no work. I would say keep on it and keep learning

That odd for just day 2 but at least you’re gonna learn stuff and hopefully it won’t be a boring internship

You have a real job. Get that experience! My internship has plenty of work but no overtime. I have to hustle to get it all done or work unpaid overtime which is absolutely a problem but I like my internship…

Wow, going from day one onboarding to single-handedly tackling a 14-project deadline while the rest of your team is on leave is definitely a massive workload for an intern! It sounds like you are experiencing the ultimate baptism by fire. While the age gap might make it tough to bond initially, shared panic over a Friday deadline is actually a surprisingly effective icebreaker.
On the bright side, you are getting incredible, hands-on experience instead of just fetching coffee or scrolling on your phone. Do your absolute best and soak up all that real-world knowledge, but remember it's okay to naturally communicate your limits - you don't want to accidentally become the new department head by week two! You've got this.

age isn’t an issue, and if you think there’s nothing in common you can have with a guy over 30 then you should refresh your mindset. seems like a lot on second day, but at least you’re getting real experience - a lot of interns out there stuck grabbing coffee and making useless powerpoints who would kill to do a fraction of what you do. make the most of it - you got it

job is not school, where people actively teach you stuff and gradually increase difficulty of ur workload.
stuff just get thrown at you and its ur responsibility to figure them out. they will not have much expectation from u the first couple weeks but thats about it
this means the company treats u like an actual adult and u will learn a lot from it

I have a pretty intensive internship too and I’d much rather have more work than not enough. I am happy to always have direction, they’re paying me to fiddle around and grind and develop my own skillset. And on top of that I get creative freedom and the ability to express my passion. And I have a bunch of professionals that are actively reviewing my work. So definitely enjoy that you’re not just handling tickets all day

just try your best. it’s good u have work to do but 14 projects is at lot- do as much as you can. if you can perform well tho your manager is likely to want u to return

Honestly that’s a lot of work… it’s an internship your not a full timer in that role. If your doing the same amount of work as the 31 year olds, are you getting the same or good salary pay?
