Website I built a website to fix loneliness.

I built a small website because my wife sat alone for an hour waiting for someone to play games with.
This is going to sound like a small thing but it really got to me.

A few months ago I was gaming with a friend. My wife decided she wanted to play too and reached out to some people she knew. About an hour later she walked into my room on the verge of tears. She had been sitting there the whole time just waiting. Nobody showed up. Nobody even responded. She just felt completely alone.

That hit me way harder than I expected. Because I knew she wasn’t the only person who feels that way. A lot of us have hobbies and interests that the people around us just don’t share. And finding someone online who actually gets it is weirdly hard these days.

Every platform out there is built around algorithms, ads, and keeping you scrolling. Social media stopped being social a long time ago. It’s all about engagement metrics and sponsored content and who has the most followers. Nobody actually built something just for people who want to quietly find their people and talk to them.

So I did.

It’s called CommonGrove. It’s a small closed platform where you pick your interests, see who else is around, and just exist with people who get it. There are no ads, no bots, no subscriptions, no algorithms deciding what you see, no harassment, no sexual content, nothing like that. Just peaceful chatting with people who like the same things you do. You don’t even need your real name. Just a gamertag and whatever you’re into.

It’s very much in beta right now. The design isn’t finished. I built the whole backend myself and someone is still working on making it look less like a developer threw it together at 2am. But it works. People can join rooms, post hangouts, message each other, and find their people.

I’m one person moderating it so reports get reviewed by me personally, usually within 24 to 48 hours. I just wanted to be upfront about that.
If you’ve ever felt like my wife did that night, just wanting someone to actually be there without all the noise that comes with every other platform, I built this for you.

Would genuinely love feedback from this community. You’re exactly who I had in mind when I built it. Again, it is in Beta so I’m hoping all the bugs are fixed.

Website Update: the website I built to fix loneliness (A few months later)

A few months ago I posted here about a small website I built after my wife sat alone for an hour waiting for friends to log on and play games with her. Nobody showed. She walked in on the verge of tears, and that was the moment I decided to actually do something about it.

A lot of you showed up for that post, way more than I expected. So I wanted to come back and be honest about where things stand now.

Back then I said the design looked like a developer threw it together at 2am. That was true. Since then I've spent a long stretch rebuilding it: actual design work, a real look and feel, not just something functional. It still doesn't compete with big platforms, but it finally feels like somewhere I'd actually want to hang out, not just somewhere that works.

The core of it hasn't changed at all. It's called CommonGrove. Pick your interests, find people who share them, just talk. No ads, no algorithms deciding what you see, no popularity contest, no subscriptions required to actually use it. You also don't need your real name, just a gamertag and whatever you're into.

It's still just me. I still personally review every report. That part hasn't changed and I don't expect it to anytime soon. I just want to keep being upfront about that. I have been getting feedback during development from a close friend, who has been answering my dumb questions throughout the process. He helped me with some of the design too. (I gotta give him credit too.)

If you're the kind of person who's ever felt like my wife did that night, just wanting someone to actually be there without all the noise every other platform comes with, it's still here, and it's better than it was.

www.common-grove.com

Would genuinely love to hear from anyone who checked it out back then what's different now, or from anyone seeing it for the first time. Always looking for honest feedback. And I am always open to criticism as I want to make it the best version of what it can be.

Website A Dating App For Introverts...?

Hello fellow introverts!

I am looking for a project having recently completed a web dev course. I am wondering if a dating app for introverts would be beneficial? And if so, what pisses you off about regular dating apps, and what you wish they would do to better? Anyway, just a thought after a few beers and a question from a mate! Let me know if you think this would be beneficial, or have any ideas!

Cheers,

Nate.

Website (18M)I’m an introverted teen and created a quiet WhatsApp group for others like me 🌙

Hi. I’m a teenager between 14 and 18, and like many introverts, I often feel disconnected in loud, busy social spaces. I’ve always wished for a calm place where I could just be myself, without pressure — and talk to others who truly understand what it feels like to be quiet in a noisy world.

So I created a WhatsApp group called “Shy” — for introverted teens (ages 14–18) from around the world. It’s not about being popular or talkative — it’s about gentle friendship, respect, and understanding.

🌍 We already have people from: Brazil 🇧🇷, France 🇫🇷, Germany 🇩🇪, Russia 🇷🇺, USA 🇺🇸 — and more.

💬 What we talk about: • Life, feelings, culture, music, school • Sometimes we practice languages like English, Portuguese, French, German, and Russian • But mostly, we just try to make each other feel heard — even in silence.

There’s no pressure to talk, and it’s okay to just read and observe. We’re building slow, honest connections in a space that feels safe and quiet.

If you’re between 14 and 18, introverted, and this speaks to you — feel free to comment or DM me, and I’ll send you the invite privately. 🌱

You’re not alone — even if you like to be alone. 💙

You don't need an email or a google account to sign up. You can post photos and videos, and create a board with pictures and text so people can learn about you. You can friend people from the home page, dm them, and see who they're friends with. It's https://my-board.neocities.org

Website "Why Do Rich People Love Quiet?" --Interesting article I came across on The Atlantic, tangentially related to introversion. In my experience, there's some truth to it. Wealthier neighborhoods tend to be more suited for introverts. They're quieter, offer more privacy

I've been working on an MVP for Charis, but the main issue I ran into was the expertise in psychology, sociology, psychiatry, etc. required for this app to be truly useful. Can you help?

Website Help: Need Feedback On Introvert Webapp

Thumbnail revri.app

I’ve built a web app just for introverts like you and me. What I need is real opinions about what you like and don’t like about the app. I designed the app to be encouraging and useful for introverts to help deal with the extrovert oriented world.

I’m in my mid 50s and it took me a long time to accept myself and know there is nothing wrong with me. My hope is that introverts that feel like outcasts in this world will find some genuine support by using this webapp.

PLEASE don’t holdback on the criticism. I genuinely want to make it better for all of us.

Website Spent months feeling drained and had no idea what was actually causing it

Maybe it’s introversion or social anxiety, idk, but I kept coming home exhausted and couldn’t really explain it. Some weeks were fine, others I was done by Wednesday. That in itself is exhausting. I needed to figure out why.

So I started logging it: work stuff, hanging out, errands, family time. After each interaction / event, I’d just note how I felt going in and coming out. Not like journaling, just a quick check.

A few weeks in it got kind of obvious. One friend I see for coffee pretty much always leaves me feeling good. Client meetings for work (I’m self-employed, so they’re necessary) are just consistently awful for me. Grocery shopping on weekends is somehow one of the worst things on my list, which I did not expect at all.

Having it written down made the “should I go out tonight” thing a lot less stressful. I could just look at where I was at instead of spiraling about it.

I ended up building an app for this because I was doing it in a notes app and it was a mess. It’s called Social Battery - Introvert App, free to download. Just log your activities and it shows you your energy patterns over time.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/social-battery-introvert-app/id6759211267

What drains you that you wouldn’t have guessed? I’m wondering if the grocery store thing is just me.

Website I feel too introverted for social media

As a pretty introverted person, I never really felt comfortable sharing my life publicly on social media. It feels like performing for an audience I didn't ask for.

But I still wanted a way to remember my days.

I looked for journaling apps, but most of them felt just as loud—streaks, gamification, AI prompts, and social features pretending to be reflection tools. Everything felt like it was trying to turn my private thoughts into "productivity data."

Modern life is already noisy enough. I just wanted a quiet, beautiful space where I didn't feel the pressure to perform or scroll.

So I built Hibi.

I spent a long time on the design because I wanted it to feel like a "private feed"—calm, intentional, and aesthetically pleasing, like your memories are being treated with care.

A few strangers tested it earlier and their feedback was surprisingly encouraging, so I finally decided to release it.

It’s free to try right now. If you're also someone who has a lot to say but nowhere "quiet" enough to say it, maybe this will help you too: https://hibi-self.vercel.app/

Website A little digital experiment for introverts

This is a short, independent social experiment that works through a single anonymous form. Participants are asked to fill out a brief questionnaire about their age, interests, social habits, and how connected or isolated they feel around those interests. Completing the form takes about 5–10 minutes. Based on responses, some adult participants (18+) may be informed that another person with similar interests exists and given the option to contact them. No matching is guaranteed. Many participants will receive no match at all. This is not a dating app, not a service, and not a promise of connection. It is an experiment observing patterns of shared interests and social loneliness. No photos, public profiles, or identity verification are involved. Responses from minors are collected only for data and analysis and are never used for matching. Any interaction after contact sharing is entirely optional and at the participant’s own discretion. Real-life meetings are discouraged. The goal is simple: to study and gently test what happens when people with niche interests are made aware of each other, and to collect honest social data in the process. Participation is voluntary. Honesty matters.

Here's the form:https://forms.gle/RB1NiJEuVnssZ62g6

Thankyou!!

Website I'm an independent artist/playlist curator, and as an introvert I spend a lot of time listening to/making music. I listened to 600 independent unsigned artists' submissions and added the best to my Spotify playlists. Posting here for anyone who's interested in some totally fresh music

Modern Indie/Alternative/Rock - really proud of this one, has lots of fantastic up and coming bands and artists from all over the world

Profound Lofi Beats - these Lofi beats are slightly more intricate and unique than the main Lofi beats playlists on Spotify

Modern Acoustic/Gentler Music - This playlist has many independent musicians who create softer music, good to listen to on mellow weekends/evenings

Modern Electronic/Dance Tunes - This one a wide array of Electronic music, incredibly diverse ranging from upbeat to mellow and some great Independent artists here!

Lofi beats to chill and spin flax to - bit of a jokey/meme playlist I made for playing RuneScape, a long list of Lofi beats for long gaming sessions!

Lofi Recline - much more peaceful evening lo-fi, good to be rid of overthinking and settle in for a peaceful night

Really Funky Jams - cool to go a bit mental to and dance around the room and feel that funk
