Will I be able to find a job
Hey guys so I'm just wondering if I could find a job in invercargill
I'm from Auckland and the job market is cooked up here and my dad is planning on moving back down south
I wouldn't mind but I'd want to find a job I am a qualified mechanic and I can easily adapt so will it be hard to find employment?.

There's heaps of mechanics that could use another hand. I'm sure you'll be fine

I'm in the automotive trade and there are plenty of mechanics around here, shouldn't be particularly difficult to find work, especially if you can do heavy diesel

Ive worked on a few diesels as the house bus I'm bringing down is a diesel and I've had to do its maintenance and check over it etc but I'm not qualified for diesel mechanics

Okay sweet as like that's the only thing I am qualified for but even just a entry level job I'll be happy as I am quite young so they usually don't hire me

Being a mechanic always travels well. You can always do homers until you land a more secure job.

If you have the tools theres lots of homes you can do. There's a few places thatd take you. And if you need theres always the meat works that accept almost anyone, while you look for another job. Probably best meat works is Alliance, you'd most likely get $800+ in the hand per week there. I get between $900-$1500 in the hand per week there depending on how many hours I do.

Try McLeod Diesel , I believe they were looking for someone they are mainly heavy diesel but do a bit of everything so maybe an opportunity there to gain expertise on the heavy side , there is definitely more demand in that and the ag sector as support for the dairy industry

Also I’m guessing you have aleast a class 2 , if you’re looking for a change we may be looking for a driver for our transport (not general freight or stock)

It's really hit or miss down here. I'd reccomend applying to a few places to see if you can secure a job before you move
