Question iPhone 18 pro max

So currently I'm waiting on my next up at&t upgrade to iPhone 18 pro max thru the mail order placed on October 4th still in preorder on 17th of October I was wondering if I wanted to get a different iPhone 18 pro max and better storage if I send my current Samsung s26 ultra in thru mail if I can exchange at at&t store and order a different iPhone 18 pro max or will they take the iPhone 18 pro max that I ordered and I won't have no phone for the wait

That is a question for AT&T I think.

They are on hold right now with the issues. They have been swapping peoples phones out with the inventory they have. I would wait until all the problems are fixed else you might end up with a non working phone.
