Art Is this game using AI generated assets, or even been programmed entirely with AI?

These two images are from the game 'Chinatown Detective Agency' on Steam. I dont know if these two pics are breaking Rule 4, so I apologize of they are. I also dont mean to harass the creators too.

I think that they might be AI because of the strange lighting and differing art-styles, which are unusual for this type of gamem also coupled with the fact these are the usual styles that AI likes to use.

I think it might be AI coded due to the finicky menu settings where it is quite a challenge to open, with such small buttons, but nevertheless it might just be intentional.

The art itself isn't AI, with works and style of the artist evolving naturally since 2017. The art itself is from 2020 before generative AI got to the point of being good enough to emulate a style like this.

The game itself came out in 2022. This is before vibecoding was possible.

It is not possible for this to be AI and there is nothing that looks like hallmarks of generation when it comes to art or coding.

Thank you for the insightful, well-researched, thoughtful answer. I hope the devs can see this and be proud that they created something so high quality through the sheer force of hard work!

Released in 2022, likely not very much ai usage at this point.

For games on Steam , assume that they are labeled as AI assisted on the Store page

a lot of games that has gen AI in them (clearly visible to end user) have no disclaimer about it.
most recent example ive seen myself is Aniimo
