What’s one iconic word that describes JMU?

I'm curious how different universities have their own culture and identity.

If you could pick just ONE word that instantly makes students and alumni think of JMU, what would it be?

Family

No matter where I run into Dukes across the globe and across age brackets....we treat each other like family

This made me sad. So any good memories. I can't believe it's gone.

I think of JMU as a place where doors are held open - so probably something like "Openers" "Altruistic" etc

Or just "Dukes"
