AI Slop Deer spotting locations

Hi there, I am staying near Killarney on Friday evening and I am wondering where would be the best place to possibly photograph deer/stags? I have a car so I can get up early and travel, also don't mind a bit of a walk. Any help is really appreciated.

You should see some if you walk through the park in town. If not have a drive towards molls gap, check the fields on your left not long after leaving town or park up in one of the lay byes and walk through the woods towards the lakes. You might get lucky and catch one or two drinking.

There's a free deer watch walk Saturday morning with NPWS staff. It's at 7:30.

Autumn Deer Watch: Saturday October 17th: @ 7.30 am: Guided Walk with Tricia Beecher & Conor Rowlands, Conservation Rangers, NPWS. Meeting Point: Knockreer Gates (Opposite St Mary’s Cathedral)

Do they only advertise these events on Facebook? Can't see mention of it on the national park website, or anywhere else.

I pretty sure I didn't see it on Facebook (rarely use it) but I'm not sure where I saw it. Pretty certain I read it online as opposed to someone saying it to me or seeing a sign in around the park. I think it might have been some sort of schedule of events or maybe the Advertiser/Outlook or possibly something else because when I saw OP's post, it struck something in my head and I did a search to see if it was this weekend or last. When I went searching I found it on Facebook.

Annoying because the National Park's own website has an events page - why are they so bad at advertising these things?

Across the road from the entrance to Muckross house is a very popular spot for them.

Muckross House and Gardens and/ or the walk out to Dinis Cottage tearoom will often have deer /stags pottering about. You will definitely hear them good luck πŸ‘
