Good deal?
Is this a good deal or should I spend the extra $3,000 on a gt line that's a year older and has 88,000mi?

Id get a GDI service done on either car. Walnut blast the intake valves and youre good.

That is 30k miles per year.
Is this a rental, fleet, or rideshare?
I would run from this.

My guess is it's a loner from the Kia maintenance department. The only people who have ever driven it, we're pissed off that they didn't have their own car, so they drove it hard

It’s like a 70 year old man in car years and miles , let’s put it that way.

Those gdi engines are junk they are very much known for burning oil even with under 100k miles

This is a 2.5L Smartstream, which is MPI as well as GDI. It still needs proper periodic carbon cleaning but the rings are much better than previous generations. I have same engine in my 25 Sonata and I don't see any issues with this car as long as 5k or less oil changes were met and it actually has clean cylinders/valves.

I have this model and year and love it. But that mileage is a but scary. Mine is only a bit over 60K. I would be worried about how well it was maintained and how much it was abused with that mileage.

Both are scary propositions without very detailed MTC histories AND a PPI that includes compression testing and scoping cylinders. GT line has fewer miles but is turbo, so no telling how doggedly that was driven. Transmission fluid condition check next major point. Crappy looking fluid=nope. You're either getting a gem or a world of long term hurt. I suggest you tread cautiously.

Cvts aren’t rated to last very long and she’s already over that 100k mark
