Explain Why are several songs with the same name suddenly released around the same time?
I noticed these situations and started questioning the originality of the companies, because whenever they released a track with a specific name, shortly after, another company would release something similar. Sometimes these events originated from the same company, and other times not. I could cite several examples I've seen before, but here come are a few of them: ExtraL by JENNIE & DOECHII and EXTRA by Somi, but more recently we have LEMONADE by aespa and Lemon Tang by Hearts2Hearts. Now XLOV and lngshot with the titles ''masterpice'' like????

I think it's just a coincidence. But it was really funny when Set me free was up against Set me free in the music show one year.

"Set Me Free Pt.2" by Jimin, and "Set Me Free" by TWICE being released a week apart was crazy.

I don’t really believe in coincidences; to me, they don’t exist, there’s always some factor that exerts an influence.

Coincidences absolutely do exist and sometimes that’s just what something is

These are all similar outcomes, most likely stemming from the same source of influence, so I don’t believe it’s a coincidence without relative contexts.

It's a coincidence
Like SKZ song was This and that, but KIOF title song lyrics had This and that
Lemonade and Lemon Tang is quite strange since both groups are SM. So maybe that one is intentional

Oh, I totally agree with you. SM likes to categorize its groups into popular concepts that the company itself frequently employs, I’ve noticed this in various details. It’s a form of standardization, or perhaps an attempt to replicate something that has gone viral. Also, it’s possible that pursuing one concept could lead to another, that’s a possibility I wouldn’t rule out.

Its merely coincidence. There are so many songs out there in the world, many are bound to have the same or similar names. Being released near each other is entirely coincidental as well.
Things having the same name isn't unique to kpop. The number of non-kpop somgs with same or similar names is huge. Iread a lot of fantasy/romantasy. There are so many freaking similar titles I get confused sometimes as to what's what. Its just a thing that happens. 🤷🏻♀️

Always question things, the fact that something happens frequently is all the more reason to ask why and if it happens within the same timeframe, it becomes even more intriguing.

I'm all for questioning things. There is no problem in that. Heck, sometimes it's just fun to just consider.
You asked the question, I provided an answer. That answer being that there is no answer. Sometimes two things are the same or similar by simple coincidence. Learning to accept that sometimes things don't have answers is an actual life skill.
Because we're talking about songs that are released very near each other, there is no logical strategic or marketing reasons the songs would have the similar titles. If we're talking about songs released far apart from each other, sure there is a small chance that the later one was named to ride off the popularity - but its still very likely just coincidence.
Is it interesting that it happens? Sure. Is there really any reason for it happening beyond coincidence? Not likely. 🤷🏻♀️

I really don't believe all cases are coincidences. It's probably some sort of trend analysis. You see some examples where the title is way too specific, yet you have multiple songs with it in a same window of time, without any songs with that title before or after (or at least way less)

I loved your comment, I think there’s also an influence at play that ends up affecting most people and since it happens so often, the result it ends up being, in a way, both funny and curious.

Yeah. It's really weird people are simply chalking it up to coincidence, and mentioning common titles as if every case was on the level of "Butterfly"
But the truth is we've had cases of IYKYK with 10 days of difference (even though XG is not exactly K-pop it's impossible to not associate the influences).
In some cases, it's very blatant what the trend is. Like, when there was the rise of girl crush concept, girl groups also starting using way more "bad" in the title and this reflects up to now on groups that still do the concept, even out of trend.
It shouldn't be a mindblower that companies saw some positive association of lemons and lemonade with the summer, for this year.
Also happened when it was a trend to have a "key onomatopoeia" for your chorus and all titles were just random things like that. Which is also evoked nowadays when it's used.

I personally think it's because the song titles are in english. They choose easy words to understand and market.

Honestly, we're running out of words. Would you rather a repeated title or an AI-generated one?

they are just generally common names
