Is this another location the KDA has been microscoping and using lies and blatantly false information where they can’t get states to ban outright? Is AKA helping at local levels like this? I’m not in NY but can write if it’ll help (I do specifically travel to Saratoga springs 2x for work conferences every year).

So, I need to be real with everyone here - they lost a county employee in Saratoga and this is where his mom is from as well.

I've heard the story drift a few times from gas station seltzers to whole leaf. I haven't seen the toxicology, I don't know if that claim to have submitted it in Rensselaer was a lie to shut me up. But I'm operating under the most generous assumption to that mother - that there was indeed nothing else in this dude's system and this was a freak, truly unfortunate thing that happened where he asphyxiated in his sleep after dosing hard.

This individual's case is the one driving all the activity in the area. Feel free to look into it further and come back if you have more info. I can drop the name because she's voluntarily making his incident a public matter - Nickolas Scribner.

My motivation with Saratoga is semi-retaliatory if I'm being honest, these people came into my county where they don't live and no incidents have occurred, and they lied their asses off while I was stuck publicly pleading with lawmakers not to make me go on Rx opioid maintenance.

But my motivation behind this overall is that I, like all of you, know that banning leaf will result in orders of magnitude more loss of life than it saves. I'm being nice and assuming that lady is legit and misguided.

NY has a lot of quirks in how its counties conduct business. It is also KDA’s backyard so those upstate counties are their “home games.”

They are really targeting the Capitol region w these bans. Fortunately, I dont think there is much of an appetite outside of that area, but I could be wrong. Super annoying for me as a NY'er.

Let's move away from terms like addicts on this one. But the answer is they said they did, my local lawmaker had not seen it last we spoke. Again, in public, I have to operate under the most generous and empathetic presumptions as to what occurred and their motivations.

I'm not saying it's not possible that this is being driven or the people are being manipulated by Indivior or whatever pharma company, but until I see direct evidence of this I must assume some legitimacy behind the grief.

Even though I'm in MA I still send emails and actively advocate in other areas. I previously sent some emails to Saratoga County officials and hope others are doing likewise. There is strength in numbers and we need to show up everywhere to the best of our ability. There is always something we can do every day. Even if it's just liking and commenting on AKA YouTube videos I try and do something every day.
