I like it out here mostly, there is some drama right now in the local government.

Sums up my experience. I live in a less affluent area, but I don't feel like its dangerous. I just keep my house and cars locked, but tbh I'd do that if I lived somewhere nicer too.
Editing to add that I love taking the bike trail into downtown during the summer. Didnt really start using it until a couple years ago, but its clutch.

They never vote for their school’s bond proposals and their schools are kind of garbage so that kind of tells me what kind of folks they are and what kind of priorities they have.

I don't live in comstock, but I toured the new STEM school there and it looks great, so they built something at least.

Stay out of the "city center" (old power plant to Sprinkle Rd., railroad to greenhouse district) and you're fine.
Property taxes are kinda high, School system is shit.. Township Board is uh, "in flux" but beyond all that it's cool.

And the township member who got fired and then got $435k payout . We got the money but not spent on education.

They are building a Battery Energy Exchange System near the golf course and stem school. These systems often release toxic gas into the surrounding area. Its happening and the outgoing manager with the bonus and kickbacks can be thanked. The board tried to move the BEES but to no avail. They got recalled after that.

There are some nice neighborhoods there.
