Wheelchair accessible towns/cities?
Hi, I’m looking to move to the North West and have been thinking of Lancashire because of the countryside and coastline. Currently living in the West Midlands and just want somewhere more chilled and friendly.
I’m searching for towns that would be accessible but still have things going on. Some of the things I like are: green spaces (parks, nature reserves), art/craft groups, gardening. I also like museums and galleries but this isn’t a must (happy to travel to a city for that).
I would be looking for a one-bed flat with a budget of around £800 per month. I don’t drive and rely on public transport, so an accessible train station would be ideal. My wheelchair is electric so it doesn’t need to be somewhere totally flat, but areas where a lot of buildings have steps would of course be an issue.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

2 Weeks later-- I miss you, Lancashire.
I visited your county two weeks ago, from September 23 until October 2. Yesterday morning( yestermorn?), I found myself sitting in my car after clocking out at work.. and thinking " well, time to go to where I sleep"...
I miss Lancashire. I miss walking down a car-lined street on a sidewalk that is bordered by a rough-hewn stone wall in the misty rain with my wife, hand -in-hand.
I miss carefully moving my size 15 feet down tiny stairs, carefully avoiding the wall above.
I miss Costa Coffee.
I miss actual city centers.
I miss bus stations, and The Witchway busses.
I miss train stations, and the delight of finally riding a train. We had to change trains in , I believe , Preston, and accidentally went down an elevator into an underground brick lined tunnel. I half expected a troll or at least a goblin to peek out at us... and was kind of disheartened when one didn't.
I miss the mountains you guys call " hills" .
They are mountains in my South Alabama mind, just as awe inspiring in their own way as any others. I miss the small villages tucked inside narrow valleys , many of them looking like they crawled out of a 19th century novelists work.I miss the small stone walls that sometimes creep up and down them.
I miss the River Brun, where it passes by the Burnley Job Center, passing under a brick bridge before slowly flowing away out of sight. I remember it had an old cobblestone pathway on one side of it that looked like it might be older than my country.
I miss getting lost in Manchester"s( I know I know.
But still.. its lancashire. :p) back streets looking for a place that served American Southern Biscuits and Gravy. They did it right, I can tell you that.
I miss the Liver birds on the building near the Albert Docks. I even miss those multi colored pigeon artworks on that one building. I finally got to see canal boats !!!
I miss Blackpool. Especially the south pier there. Walking on the sand under it during low tide. The illumination. The tiny elevator up to the top of Blackpool Tower. I miss full English breakfast ( minus the black pudding ), even the beans on toast. I miss the sound of an English tea kettle whistling away in the morning, now realizing that that is the only proper way to wake up after a long night's sleep.
But, most of all.. I miss my wonderful wife.
Lancashire, I miss you.. but , I guarantee you I will come back Home one day.
Can't wait to come back in April.

Regeneration in Lancashire (Specifically Preston): A missed opportunity?
Hello everyone,
I am a student studying geography at Blackpool Sixth Form College. For my coursework, I am looking at the recent regeneration in Preston and the improvements made towards the city centre.
What do you think about the recent changes made towards Preston's city centre?
I would really like to hear the opinions of people who live there or around/near the city centre and know the area best(Or anyone that visits Preston often).
Please could you fill out a quick online survey? It will only take a couple minutes and all responses are completely anonymous.
So far I have 15 responses(which are mainly people from my geography class) so any responses are really appreciated(I would like to get 50 responses so that I have enough data to analyse).
Thanks very much for your time!

Places for lunch with my dad during the week
I have a day or two off every week now and like to take my dad for lunch whenever I can
We like going to cafes and getting tea and something to eat, recently we have been going to horse sanctuaries or anything to do with horses like Happa or Penny Farm today and then have tea and a sandwich for lunch
Anyone got any nice recommendations I can take him to?

Bond's elswick closest match?
Hi everyone, I just had a recollection of memories of going to bonds with my nan occasionally and I swear to god it's the best Ice cream I've ever had.
I know you often look back on things with rose tinted shades but even back then l knew it was the peak of all ice creams.
I went down a rabbit hole about the owners trying to find if they published the recipe before going out of business so i could try and make some at home, i couldn't find anything at all.
Has anyone else had Bonds before and if so, whats the closest match available now?

Bring me sunshine. Morecambe FC club anthem
And today I learnt that Morecambe Football Club uses "Bring Me Sunshine" as their official club anthem and fan chant.
British comedy legends Morecambe & Wise adopted it as their famous signature theme song and skip-dance exit in 1969.
Because the iconic duo named themselves after the seaside town, Morecambe FC (known as "The Shrimps") naturally embraced the tune as their own club anthem.
Fans sing the uplifting track on matchdays to show support for the team.

The police were called out when local councillor David Whipp expressed his democratic right to film during the meeting.
Im struggling to find out what happened in the aftermath, was he removed? Was he allowed to continue?
