Hardware Is my GPU dead?

Laptop MSI Ge62vr, GTX 1060 ~8years old.

My laptop GPU stop being recognized by Windows. It wouldn't show up in the device manager. Tried a few things:

- EC reset, still not showing up

- Cannot update drivers as when I try to install them I get an error saying there's no Nvidia hardware

- Reinstalled Windows, still not working, still cannot install drivers due to no hardware detected.

Any ideas? Is my GPU officially dead? With today's components insane prices I really wish I can salvage my PC :(

8 years for a gaming laptop is a pretty good run, most of them cook themselves way before that. if it's not showing up after a clean windows install then the chip probably gave up, you could try the oven reflow trick but that's a coin flip and might make things worse.
