R/latteart recently surpassed 34,000 users, which is AWESOME news that our community is growing!!! ๐ฑ โฌ๏ธ ๐ณ
Please keep in mind a few things moving forward into 2025 and beyond:
1) When posting for advice on a pour, please post a video when possible so advice can be targeted very specifically to the issues at hand. A still photo doesn't demonstrate issues as clearly as a video.
2) So many of the responses to posts asking for advice are "Watch more videos/tutorials", "It's your milk, improve your milk", "Master the basics before moving on to more complex patterns", etc...if we can agree that such advice is universally applicable, we can avoid a lot of the redundancies in the comment threads.
3) PLEASE KEEP IT POSITIVE...whether OP is a newbie or a competitive latte artist, please keep all responses positive. Putting others down for their lack of experience/know-how or telling ppl they're farming for attention because they happen to have certain proficiencies isn't helpful for anyone. If you want to be negative, there are other espresso related subs to troll on.
4) Let us know if there are things you'd like to see more of on the sub...last February we hosted a monthly themed pour about hearts and heart variations in alignment with Valentine's Day...should we do something similar again this February? Any other ideas come to mind that would improve the experience here?
5) Keep on having fun and progressing...I mean, other than the tasty beverages we are crafting, isn't that why we're all here? ๐

Been pouring in this same 6oz cup since nearly the beginning. Iโm happy with my progress but thereโs always room to improve. Big shoutout to pithy for all of the refinement tips

We were testing out latte art with some of our smaller volume mugs. Thought Iโd share with the people!

I've got DeLonghi Linea Classic (EM450.m). Anyone uses it for latte art successfully? ๐
because lady in the store said I can do latte art with it ๐ I made the mistake to trust her ๐คฃ rather than do a deeper research... She said I can use just the rubber nozzle without the metal thingy ๐ But she didn't say the rubber nozzle will fall off sometimes ๐ I did 2 attempts without the problem but after 3rd one it started falling off. I wonder if it may be because it was already too warm because I did all those attempts on one go. Do I will try again tomorrow and see if I can still do 2 attempts without it falling off ๐
I searched for some other metal nozzles to change the one I have but there are just no other nozzles for this model :/ at least I can't find it (I live on EU)... I saw a YT video that we can secure the rubber nozzle with a cable zip tie ๐
Any advice? Maybe someone manages to work with this model? Not sure if I can still return it, but then I'm not sure how expensive is some other model where I can actually change the nozzle for making a microfoam...

Local beans, oatmilk, and a 1 week old sage barista pro. Very new but enjoying myself (and lots of coffee) in the process!

I just bought this espresso machine, and Iโm still trying to figure out how to steam milk properly for latte art.
The first picture is my very first attempt, and the second picture is my second attempt. Somehow, the second one turned out even worse, even though I used the exact same technique both times ๐ญ
Iโm completely new to this, so Iโd really appreciate any tips or advice on how to improve my milk steaming and latte art. What am I doing wrong?

Made it a point to pour basic heart shapes on Saturdays. Trying a wrapped winged heart today. 60% there. The journey continues. โค๏ธ

Definitely not perfect, but I feel like I made a step in my art all of a sudden. The stacks are coming along nicely, though the cut through isnโt straight enough I guess.

hey guys, I've been making coffees for a few years running a cafรฉ here in Brisbane. I make games on the side for fun and thought I'd merge the two together :)
its just a free pour mode at the moment, but I'm working on recording some patterns to have some gameplay where you serve customers and try to match the pattern they request.
If anyone is interested to give it a go and give me some feedback (or even save some patterns for the game - ill give full credit) let me know!
