Everything Trump does makes sense once you realize he is a Russian asset.

982

u/Firm-Advertising5396 18h ago

That's why they limited starlink for Ukraine, the bots

231

u/mrbuddymcbuddyface 13h ago

And limited intelligence sharing, on incoming middle attacks on Ukraine. Whilst Russia is helping Iran targeting US targets and allies in the Middle East.

It's treason.

With what? Any videos or pictures can just be called "AI made" now. Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media ecosystem will defend him at all costs.

Nah, he's doing this because he's a power hungry fuck.

47

Thus the push for AI. We haven’t got there yet but it will be soon where nothing is provable as real.

No, he's not. You cannot blackmail someone who's totally shameless, like him.

Russians (especially putin) clearly scare him, but it's not with blackmail. It's something else. I'm not sure if I want to know what it could be.

52

u/SirCrazyCat 17h ago

Trump is motivated by the money the Russians have paid him and tease will pay him in the future AND by whatever compromising things they have on him. Russians like the carrot and the stick.

12

u/OldManGrimm 16h ago

Just the threat of defenestration is a pretty convincing stick. Especially for a narcisist - he can't fathom facing a consequence for anything, nor can he stand the thought of a world without him in it.

They could reveal that Trump has been propped up entirely by dirty Russian money and without that corruption he would be dead broke. To Trump his wealth is the cornerstone of his personality, and threats to his internal story of being a successful businessman are one of the things he just cannot tolerate. It would be devastating to his ego to be revealed as a fraud and therefore Russia will always hold power over him. And the pee pee tapes.

19

u/SirCrazyCat 15h ago

Donald Jr said the Trump family gets all the money they need from Russia during the 2016 Champaign. So that won’t help.

Trump is an odd sort of shameless. He doesn’t care if we all know he’s a lazy disgusting lying sack of shit, but he VERY MUCH wants fear and respect.

If a video existed that would make MAGA laugh at him, he would burn down the world before letting it see the light of day.

Money.

It’s the only thing that realistically would make an impact. He’s shameless and immune to Justice so long as he has enough money, being wealthy is also a core part of his public identity.

It’s the only thing he truly cares about. He’s either got all his money tied up in Russian assets and investments, or he’s being promised a shitload more

Ukraine hitting Yandex data centers is limiting Russia bot army, which would limit their social media attacks. Which would limit how much disinformation they can spread now online. And Ukraine has said they will continue hitting the data centers.

A former conservative friend of mine (cut ties bc of politics) used to tell me he hoped that Putin and trump would save us from NATO - he viewed NATO as a pre-WWI style entanglement device and thought letting Putin weaken it would save the U.S. He was adamant the Cold War era was over and nothing in today’s world indicated Russia was an enemy, and that the real enemy are the democrats here. Section 115(a), titled “Waiver,” of the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 (H.R. 5334), signed into law September 18, 2026.
The exact language states:
“The President may, subject to subsection (b), waive the application of any sanctions provision with respect to a foreign person, any restriction with respect to a person, or any duty under this title.”

All he has to do is state why it is in the interest
Of the United States. The waiver does not have to be approved by congress.

Congress loves passing bills with gaping loopholes that say "This is a thing, unless the president says be doesn't like it."

66

u/Bee_9965 18h ago

So basically, it means nothing. Thanks Lindsey for passing a bill that the President can override on a whim.

26

u/NovarKalar 17h ago

I mean, this seems like a clear violation of the nondelegation doctrine. I doubt anyone has standing to sue over it... but theoretically it's probably an unconstitutional waiver power.

I don't think such a clause is actually valid though. Congress simply delegating power to the President with no factual requirements beyond it being "in the national interests of the United States" seems like a pretty clear violation of the nondelegation doctrine. I have no idea who would have standing to sue over this though...

What exactly would be the proper legal recourse if Congress passed a law saying that any and all other laws can be selectively waived by a Presidential determination that it's in the national interests of the United States?

Anything that can be done with a slim majority can be undone with a slim majority.

66

Absolutely incorrect.

Granting the president power requires a slim majority, since the president will sign the bill.

Taking power away from the president requires a veto-proof majority of 2/3, since the president will veto the bill.

His consistent strongman affinity for Kim Jong Un and Duarte make me think it’s less an asset thing (though the signs are there, tbh), and more a naturally destructive narcissist/sociopath asshole genuine idiot that confuses control with respect, and craves control above all else. So he admires authoritarians.

Or maybe he’s just an asshole who actually peed on a pro in Moscow and desperately wants his name on a building there. That’d track, too

16

u/aSneakyChicken7 15h ago edited 15h ago

An asset doesn’t necessarily have to be aware of the fact or being given marching orders, it’s enough if they can be manipulated into doing things for the group in question’s interests. That’s why it’s different from an agent. In more ordinary situations it can be something as simple as unwittingly accepting an invite for a paid trip to do speeches promoting them or something they’re involved in. Or as we’ve seen, being funnelled money from the interested party to assist you in making more online content which is sympathetic to them which you might have already been doing anyway without instruction.

When he was in serious financial strife in the 1980s and the American banks wouldn’t loan to him anymore, Russian banks and oligarchs came to his aid, as Russia has a history of grooming western businessmen as they can become valuable assets later on. When they come visiting to Russia, as Trump did in 1987 when lured with a prospect of a Moscow Trump tower, they also employ Kompromat, loading their hotel rooms with cameras and bugs and providing all the underaged prostitutes they could want. No doubt they also have a copy of the Epstein files. And Putin likes to remind him now and then, hence the flip-flopping.
When he got back from his Moscow trip in 1987, the first thing he did was take out full-page ads in the newspapers attacking NATO. A strange thing to do for a US playboy businessman.

Unfortunately the legislation was passed with an executive kill switch (section 115) in the form of a presidential waiver subject to the president submitting a certification and a report to congress showing that the waiver is in the national interest of the United States.

Trump is still a traitor but he's abusing a loophole in the legislation to possibly make this legal.

11

u/ConcentratedStress 5h ago

Ah yes, I think I remember that part from my civics classes…

The Judicial Branch interprets the laws

The Executive Branch enforces the laws

The Legislative Branch creates the laws…but, ya know, only if the President is cool with it and just in case they’re not, they just add a lil provision to the law that says the President can choose if it’s an actual law cause they don’t want to make the President feel like he’s not in charge or anything

In a normal democratic society, no.

But this is trumps America, he's gonna do whatever he wants and he doesn't give a shit. Since there's nobody to stop him.

13

u/Powderedeggs2 10h ago

You can if the Legislative and Judicial Branches are obedient to you.

11

u/182RG 9h ago

Who/what is going to stop him?

Two more inches to the right I'm guessing.

Oh? Remember the tariffs? When did Trump ever worry about legalities?

18

u/turikk 9h ago

You can if the legislation has a waiver section that empowers the president to pause the sanctions, like this bill did.

15

u/CategoryZestyclose91 7h ago

So that’s why Republicans voted for it.

What's the legal effect of that? Is it like a pardon in advance for anyone contravening the legislation?

57

u/MoykWheelberg 19h ago

It’s probably an order to any agency involved in legislation and the DOJ to not enforce the law. Likely similar to the orders he issued regarding Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in 2025.

37

u/BiscottiOk7342 19h ago

isnt the oath to enforce the laws?

19

Indeed it is.

44

u/TheGameIsFizzbin 19h ago

Yes, the bill had this in it that he could suspends sanctions if he wanted to. That's how stupid the senate is.

16

u/Gigofifo 18h ago

Exactly the reason some Dems voted against it.

All this unilateral BS needs to stop

Congress sets sanctions and spending. The supreme court even ruled against your BS tariffs which you never stopped issuing.

How is ignoring the Supreme Court not impeachable ??

39

u/what-year-isit 17h ago

Because maggots.

Republicans in office said they won’t impeach without him being charged for a crime years ago

DOJ said they won’t charge a sitting president with a crime.

Fuck maggots for voting in these traitorous people

u/schmapeschmape 16h ago

You ask for reason and rules based laws, you will get neither. Your president is a pedophile protector. He may be a pedophile himself. The pedophile class ruling America isn't trying to be good stewards of the country.

10

u/JumboGlucose 16h ago

“I’ve known Jeffrey Epstein for 15 years. Terrific guy, he’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.” - Donald Trump

Epstein wasn't into women of age. He's basically admitting it right there. Trump owned and had beauty pageants for children (Miss Teen USA) at the time he was friends with Epstein. He's most definitely a pedophile.

Except congress passed the sanctions bill that is giving him this power to do this

It was meant for him to impose further sanctions but sneakily gave him the authority to do either

Thank Lindsay effing Graham

Because Congress is in the hands of maga (which Leon took full credit for rigging btw). The Founders thought Congress would be jealous of their power and never cede it to the Executive. They were wrong. In the name of money and patriarchal religion, Congress has made POTUS a king.

9

u/AndrewTyeFighter 15h ago

He tried to overturn the 2020 election and incited an insurrection to try and prevent the lawful winner from taking power, and the American people voted him in 4 years later.

All the rules and conventions and even the constitution mean nothing now.

30

u/gerblnutz 18h ago

Laws signed by the president cannot be rescinded by EO. Simple as that. Game over. Let's hear Roberts sell this one.

12

u/Rhiven 18h ago

Copying this from someone else's reply.

All he has to do is state why it is in the interest of the United States. The waiver does not have to be approved by congress.

Edit: What I'm not sure about is if the "of any sanctions provision" only applies to the sanctions that are part of this law or if it applies to previously passed sanctions as well.

15

u/gerblnutz 18h ago

So we are writing in king powers over laws passed by congress now so they can precapitulate to the unitary executive? Wonderful.

The Republican Six would surely cite this precedent to excuse it ("Well he did it before!"):

President Trump Puts 'America First' On Hold To Save Chinese Jobs https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2018/05/14/610891747/president-trump-puts-america-first-on-hold-to-save-chinese-jobs

https://x.com/realDonaldTrump/status/995680316458262533

President Xi of China, and I, are working together to give massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business, fast. Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!

That was also a slap in the face to Congress, which had passed a "death sentence" on ZTE for repeatedly violating sanctions to sell to Iran and North Korea. This was probably purely venal on its part, because it came on the heels of this:

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/5/15/17355202/trump-zte-indonesia-lido-city

Trump stands to gain from an Indonesian project that got a $500 million loan (from China) right before he flip-flopped on ZTE.

It's a traitor and many other sorts of criminals, plain and simple. All Republicans are complicit if not active accomplices.
