Baguettes are usually good for 1 day, they just placed the best before on the wrong line

So they shouldn’t point out when Roblaws dates there perishables as being packaged tomorrow?
Sure it could just be an error. It’s a convenient excuse anyway.

There’s like a 99% chance the employee messed up and put the wrong date. Top down directive from management to incorrectly date items seems a little unlikely

Is this sub just meant to call out every mistake made by minimum wage employees

Posts like this show how this sub is incapable of using critical thinking. The minimum wage employee putting the Best Before date on the wrong side of the sticker is not some grand conspiracy to pull the wool over your eyes and deceive you. Shit like this happens every day in every store all over the world, humans make mistakes all the time and this is one of the least problematic ones

I just had that happen with ground beef! Packed on October 13 but I bought it on the 10th…

This is so out of control. I’ve never seen anything this out of control before. Crazy.

Loblaws isn't the only store doing this. I caught Safeway and Save on Foods selling day old products

The 16th is still later than the 15th. I think OP was reading the best before date as the packaged on date.

It said “PACKED ON” on the label in the image.
OP didn’t misread anything, though it’s probably still not as big of a deal as they’re making it out to be. It’s more likely that this was a basic employee error rather than corporate directives to mislead customers.

Yea a best before date in the wrong spot is “probably” not a nefarious corporate directive to mislead anyone.
“Probably”
