5 years ago…And still one of- if not THE best thing to come out of the newer phases. I could rewatch the whole Loki series multiple times. That’s not something I could really say about most of the other MCU shows.

its easily the greatest superhero genre project ever

Such a beautiful show, please don't destroy Loki's perfect ending by just using him as a tool to introduce Doom.

Because that would suck.

Well I mean look at WandaVision. In the finale of that show she finally embraced her title of “Scarlet Witch” and—by coming to accept the way things were and let go of what she had lost—became the hero again and set everyone free from her spell. Then, in the follow up Dr. Strange movie, <checks notes> she has already become even more delusional and evil, murdering innocent people in cold blood and risking entire universes until she gets rejected by her kids and then kills herself.

Yeah, I’m sure Marvel totally won’t undo the end to a good show in which the protagonist finally embraced his glorious purpose.

She embraced the title of scarlet witch after being warned and practically begged to not do so, because of the prophecy of destroying the world/universe. She drained all of Agatha’s power, said a few apologies and flew away to go read the book she was warned not to read that would definitely turn you evil like Agatha…so she did it anyway and the very last scene directly set up her arc in dr strange 2 and finding her children.

She held the entire area hostage for weeks and only at the very end when it all started collapsing in on itself did she decide to let the people go and take it down.

This revisionist talking point always gets repeated on marvel subs and Reddit and yet I have to always ask - did you actually watch the same show and how did you come to such a different interpretation of the literal events they depicted and set up for her villain arc?

I fucking love Wanda and she can do no wrong in my book but Wandavision was not ambiguous at all and yet people still swear it was such a crazy turn from the show to the movie. It’s really really not

First of all, I just rewatched WandaVision with my wife last week. The whole thing was the other protagonists defending who she was and finally getting through to her to take down the hex and release everyone. Meanwhile, the guy who saw her as an active threat was made out to be a secondary antagonist and gets arrested. I’m also particularly not a fan of “character becomes evil because they touched this object that made them evil.” It’s a lazy way of getting around having to explain a character’s motivations for being evil in the first place, because “I want to see my nonexistent children” isn’t a strong enough character motivation and the writer’s know it, so they have to include the evil book to explain why she’s willing to murder a bunch of people. It’s also super impersonal for our protagonists, because Dr. Strange doesn’t have personal conflict with Wanda or Wanda with Strange. We rewatched MoM a couple days after finishing WandaVision, and we just couldn’t understand how Wanda went from “I got a little carried away and trapped people in my personal coping mechanism for my intense grief” to “I’m going to kill every last one of you and then kill this innocent girl and there’s nothing you can do to change my mind.”

I’m not repeating whatever it is people say about Wanda online. These are my and my wife’s own thoughts on what we watched, not the regurgitated opinions of someone else.

Just rewatched MoM and remember having the exact same reaction the first time I saw it. In one conversation lasting a couple of minutes, they undo her arc of feeling regret and sacrificing what she wanted (her suburban life with her family) for the greater good. In a couple of minutes.

If you’re going to have Wanda truly become corrupt, show it. Wandavision involved her not knowing what she was doing for most of it (it was subconscious). Her corruption started during that time, but we don’t see enough pivotal moments imo showing her true fall to darkness.

That’s fine and you can have your opinion but I disagree and think the projects spelled it out very clearly. You can not like the macguffin of the dark hold but it’s hardly the first time the mcu has done that - Loki was being influenced by the stone in the first avengers movie for instance. That doesn’t bother me especially if they clearly spell out the rules for why it’s happening, which they did with the dark hold in both projects including what it did to dr strange using it. I’m not really arguing the choice of it, I’m arguing the execution and I don’t really see a problem there at all.

People in the show who had sympathy for Wanda doesn’t take away from her actual actions during westview. She was aware of what was happening many episodes before the finale and still chose to keep them in the hex and even expanded it to harm more people. She started as a sympathetic villain in age of ultron, she’s always had that angle to her character so it’s really not a big turn for her to end up where she was

I HOPE they give him the perfect ending in Secret Wars. As much as Doom’s actions are justified I genuinely want him to go bar for bar against doom

Really like the scenery the coloring the set, that’s 10/10 for a fantasy story

Best Marvel show period. Loki was the one character who went through not just one, but two well written and emotionally heavy character arcs.

An example of visuals done right. They also had fantastic practical sets which I think helps.

Everyone from production to music really pulled together to craft something beautiful. And during the pandemic for the first season as well!

Except the cover art for Season 2 poster and soundtrack. I'm sorry but whoever did that let the team down.

They were so beautiful, they still are.
