Cosplay Help finding His Coat

Post image

I’ve been thinking about cosplaying god of stories loki from the comics for halloween and I want to include his coat, but I have not clue what type of coat it is or how to try and find it. Does anyone know what type of coat it is? Sorry if this post isn’t correct i don’t really use reddit:P

I think you COULD find some simple green trench coat and work from there. It wont be 100% identical but I don't think it matters so much?

Yes!! A while ago I bought a long green coat with similar proportions and just modified the hell out of it as well as adding the fur top.

Half the fun is showing off something you made yourself, isn't it? And I believe, at least from watching such events on YouTube, that no one is going to laugh if the coat doesn't turn out looking like the work of Hollywood costume designers.

And, to be honest, when it comes to complex costumes, the GoS coat isn't all that far beyond the skill level of a beginner cosplayer. At least compared to Thor, or standard Loki, armour for example

I don't think you're just going to be able to find this coat. You'd probably have to commission a costume maker. The artist (Jamie Mckelvie) designed the original character costume concept. It's not real existing type of coat.

Not 100% the same but look up "long Waterfall front coat/jacket". I've thrifted a few from the early 2000s that have a similar type of open, drapey collar without buttons.

Maybe to add more structure you can start with a waterfall jacket, dye it the right green, and then add wire or something under the flaps to give it the right shape?
