Its also rough though, because people could change without saying they did, and people could claim for change without actually making it. I know this is somewhat a nonsequitor, but I would argue it's still an important discussion to be had, for what point is analyzing the nature as people, if not to communicate what applies to whom? But then also who are we to apply something like good or evil to someone when we can never truly be certain of quite what their intention is?
If God were in his heaven, all would be alright with the world. Instead, he resides in the words of men and women who seek to use his names for their own selfish reasons.
If there is a God, I have no doubt our creation has resulted in nothing but disappointment.
He's not evil but he's definitely not great either. He's a slimy sleazy selfish little freak but that's mostly out of self preservation and an Icarus like ambition. He has the capacity to change for the better ((don't ask about weird route))
Nonono we're absolutely gonna ask about weird route. He gave you the ring with the KNOWLEDGE that youw were going to kill people with it, specifically for his own selfish gain. The only reason he didn't give you the ring in the normal route is because he circumstances were different. He's still the same guy, he would've done the same thing.
He sees Kris and Noelle going out of their way to freeze everyone and says "hey, if I give them this ring then they can use it to kill the people guarding the basement so I can take over." He doesn't do it in the regular route because we're not strong enough. Also idk how he has it might just be one of those Spamton things.
What leads to that choice though? We make choices based on our personality, but in the end what determines that is either our upbringing, our genetics, or our previous choices (which eventually goes back to one of the first 2 options). If all that determines whether a person makes good or bad choices depends on factors out of their control, do good or bad people actually exist? In my opinion the answer is no
Building off what you stated, I recall a headline from a study claiming that 95% of choices are made subconsciously. Subconscious basically coming down to nature and nurtureās effect on your present emotional state. I find that humans having on average ~95% free will fascinating.
I would argue thereās no choice that doesnāt come down to nature or nurture. When you think of choices as our brain processing information then making a decision, then it becomes clearer that how it processes information must be based on nature or nurture
Yeah you can argue how nature and nurture impact conscious decisions as well and you have a good argument. The whole topic of what āfreedomā means can be a whole other debate which I wonāt get into
