I remember when this happened. IIRC, the OP was genuinely homophobic and had made some homophobic comments even outside of his self shipping posts that when combined with him shipping himself with a, by all counts, lesbian character had really put people off.
Ultimately, he seemed quite young and had a lot of ingrained homophobia from a strongly conservative and religious (Christian) upbringing.

I want to point out, though, I don't think that Noelle is ever confirmed as lesbian. Even Berdly asks her out over the phone in Chapter 4, and her response doesn't imply she's explicitly lesbian.
