The calm intro of Chopin in E flat major overlaid on some straight visual bullshit gets me every time. I love how people use classical music for the dumbest memes

What the hell did he shoot him with? Like, what size bullet? Some specialized shotgun shell or do they really just disintegrate people

79

u/D1gininja Sep 16 '26

Yeah shotguns just do that

30

u/ButtholeConnoisseur7 Sep 16 '26

I actually really like guns, but even I'm a little surprised at that. It's amazing people want those things around for more than hunting

42

u/Unoriginal_Man Sep 16 '26

If shotguns in video games were realistic, there'd be little need to ever use a different gun. They even work well at range.

36

u/JamesGray Sep 16 '26

I mean if the enemies' guns in video games were realistic then the games would be a lot less fun too. Every game would be like Escape From Tarkov and you'd just be constantly dying instantly for no clear reason as some dot in the distance shoots you.

17

u/Unoriginal_Man Sep 16 '26

Oh yeah, there's a reason certain guns are nerfed for gameplay, and I don't think it should change. It just gives people this impression that shotguns aren't effective from more than like 30 feet away, so they're surprised to find out they can actually be effective from over a football field away, depending on the gun and type of ammunition used.

u/ZealousidealLead52 Sep 16 '26

The problem is that while other weapons have plenty of use cases in real life.. their use cases are in terrain that would be boring to have in a video game. Like, in a wide open field you wouldn't really want to bring a shotgun, but players would not find a wide open field that you had to spend hours to walk across before finding the enemy very interesting.. video games always try to have "interesting" terrain or are fighting in urban settings where there are constant line of sight blockers everywhere, but there's plenty of boring terrain in the real world.

1

u/JamesGray Sep 16 '26

Yeah, like I'm Canadian and don't have all that much experience with guns-- but I've shot skeet a few times, and that was with a shotgun that seemed pretty damn accurate hitting a tiny clay disk far as hell away from me.

1

u/AreYouThereSagan Sep 16 '26

Mfw I realize gun fights don't work like CoD and I'm just bleeding out instead of magically healing.

2

u/Adaphion Sep 16 '26

Or most games at ultra nightmare difficult or whatever equivalent.

2

u/Anonymous_Jr Sep 16 '26

I fear no man.

But that 'thing?'

*Picture of Akimbo Model 1887s*

It terrifies me.

1

u/Zhuul Sep 16 '26

That's because ranges in video games outside of something like ARMA or Squad are artificially squashed because fast movement and actually seeing your enemy just works better for 90% of FPS titles. Like yeah, a shotgun can wreck someone at 50 yards, but when an open field engagement happens at about five times that range it begins to be a bit of a liability. Shit, a lot of games don't even render character models that far out.

It's one of the bigger misconceptions of modern combat from everything I've read from soldier testimonials - that scenario of marines aggressively pushing through and clearing a building is generally something that's avoided at all costs, especially when the option of "pull back to the vehicles and hurl six dozen Mk. 19 rounds at where we think the bad guys are" is available.

There’s a reason they were banned in WW1.

And then America made even better shotguns that bypassed the whole ā€˜this gun will hurt you but it’s inhumane because it will take fucking forever to die’ and somehow this warcrimes violation was okay’d because it just killed people super dead.

1

u/GlitchyFinnigan Sep 16 '26

There's a reason the Germans protested the use of shotguns in WWI

1

u/shrub706 Sep 17 '26

looking at the video i dont think that is a normal shotgun by any metric, I dont know where they got the idea from that shotguns are just like that

5

u/Houndsthehorse Sep 16 '26

Yes but also ballistics gell isn't people. You can rip it with your hands, try doing that with someoneĀ

1

u/Fiskmaster Sep 17 '26

Addendum: don't try doing that

1

u/Lauchsuppedeluxe935 Sep 16 '26

what if his head just did that

1

u/WhitherThisPath Sep 16 '26

god i fucking love shotguns so much

10

u/LimeGuyTheSlimeGuy Sep 16 '26

I guarantee you that's a snippet from Kentucky Ballistics on YouTube. I would have initially guessed it was the 4-bore shotgun, but as u/Raulgoldstein has already pointed out, you can see a mounted bipod leg sticking out below the barrel. Probably one of Scott's preposterous rifles. I forget the calibers of the really big ones he's got, I remember the largest caliber is his .950 JDJ 'Fat Mac,' which he's featured in several videos.

1

u/Antique-Yam6077 Sep 16 '26

God bless the best science channel on YouTube. (I am only half joking. There are more professional guntubers, but Kentucky is just unbridled ā€œHow much escalating damage can X take before it explodes,ā€ and I can’t fault the man for it.)

9

u/Raulgoldstein Sep 16 '26

You can see the legs of a bipod stand, I think it’s one of those sniper rifles that’s so big it’s silly

3

u/ButtholeConnoisseur7 Sep 16 '26

I wondered that, but it could also be Mythbusters style safety where everything is activated from distance

1

u/delayedfiren Sep 16 '26

There is a reason it was called the "trench gun", they absolutely cleared close area in front of them during combat

1

u/narco-sub-admiral Sep 17 '26

A shotgun that fires 6 smaller shotguns

0

u/_504_404_ Sep 16 '26

Shotguns do just blow ppl up yea

56

u/genericusername0323 Sep 15 '26

Were did you find that. I need that

23

u/Telkite_ Sep 15 '26

I have no clue about this specific clip, but it's probably from one of the bowling ball cannon videos from How Ridiculous.

19

u/Traditional-Fix539 Sep 15 '26

i don’t remember šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”

1

u/MBDTFTLOPYEEZUS Sep 15 '26

46

u/totallynotalaskan Sep 15 '26

ā€œNice miss, gutter boy!ā€

48

u/Traditional-Fix539 Sep 15 '26

the person chortles, still several lanes away from me. but now, i have a baseline. if throwing more to the left didn’t work, then i will simply readjust and throw to the right.

(i ready the bowling ball and it immediately slips out of my fingers and crushes my toes)

2

u/Leeuhhhhh Sep 16 '26

Wouldn't you like to know, gutter boy?

28

u/JaysNewDay Sep 16 '26

The first time I saw that I laugh cried for like 20 minutes.

Substances may have been involved, but it still cracks me up.

4

u/Traditional-Fix539 Sep 16 '26

2

u/Mememanofcanada Sep 16 '26

how do I save this video

2

u/Traditional-Fix539 Sep 16 '26

screen record. no other option (that i know of)

2

u/Mini_Raptor5_6 Sep 16 '26

Only option I've heard of is putting it into old reddit and then you can download it on browser there. Some reddit video download sites work too if it uses an old reddit link

2

u/LankyAd3609 Sep 16 '26

And the fact that it misses is what makes it so good, you can tell they had 18 consecutive gutterballs
