wouldn't it be funny to have a comedy series involving Dynasty Era Eunuchs in the modern age advising current modern world leaderss

not quite the same, but I can't pass up a chance to recommend Ya boy Kongming, about the legendary chinese strategist coming to modern japan and deciding to become an edm musician's agent

I still sing along when it pops up on my library

This is what happens when you cover an all-time eurodance classic.

Is Bulikirály really that popular? It's from my country and nobody I know really talks about it nowadays, at least until this anime came out.

I mean it's like 13 years old at this point, I'd be surprised if people were still talking about it.

Insane premise with a generational fumble

It's impossible to overstate how underutilised the whole thing is, he pulls off like two sicko mode stratagems and then it just stops doing that. I hope you like hearing one song over and over and also Japanese rap.

Me and some friends used to chat about all kinds of stoner things and one topic was "bringing figures from history into the modern world". We ended up agreeing that Zhuge Liang was an absolute top tier candidate, someone who was far back enough that everything would be fascinating to them but intelligent and rational enough that he wouldn't just freak out (for long).

So we all got pretty into this very silly anime. Honestly, it's a lot of fun and they did his character justice for such an absurd premise.

I feel like a lot of the greek philosophers would fit trope.

Hmm I think quite a few of them would actually, absolutely hate it.

Plato, specifically, would probably be deeply suspicious of the idea that empirical measurement is our best route to truth. For Plato, sensory reality is the messy, inferior layer. Quantum mechanics, evolutionary contingency, and fuzzy biological categories would all be offensive to his craving for underlying ideal structure.

And good look breaking Aristotle out of underlying principal causes or four elements.

I think Pythagoras would be A-Ok, even a lot of "see! I told you!" right up until irrational numbers, planetary motion, or quantum dynamics.

I mean, epistemological theory is just one school of thought. I think Plato would fit in well with Post-Modernists

Epicurean stay winning

He's also (not really) famous for having a Blonde wife irl (described in ROT3K and historical records as having 'straw-colored hair'), so....

6

u/angelbelle 17d ago

Not just blonde but also really dark skin

8

u/Germane_Corsair 17d ago

He’d be into gyarus then.

The random hungarian eurodance as an intro song is the cherry on top of it

2

u/Allegorist 17d ago

What makes it Hungarian? Sounds like fairly typical 90s eurodance to me

16

u/Funnym4ne 17d ago

absolute banger!

Kong Ming is neither a Eunich, nor does he scheme, he just a sleepy eepy dragon, followes Daoism helps Eiko with her music career, yelled at an old man until he died, and just wants some passive income.

(Im reading Kong Ming no Spy Yome, Imma read the Ya Boy Kong Ming manga after, and have already read Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Kong Ming and Zhao Zilong are the best duo in all of history)

Eunuchs in the modern age

I believe we call them lobbyists now.

20

u/MrGulo-gulo 17d ago

Can we start castrating them then?

3

u/cheeseburgerandfrie 16d ago

Preferably with a chainsaw

10

u/BieTea 17d ago

This is largely the structure of Veep

6

u/greengye 17d ago

If Dan was a Eunuch that would have solved like 25% of their problems

15

u/David_Jay 17d ago

Yes Lord Trump… Conquering Iran will be very simple… Very straightforward… As easy as Venezuela… No Lord Trump, this will not effect the price of gas… No no not at all…

u/occaisionallyimqwert 17d ago

Modern day scheming eunuchs are advertising agencies- their ad revenue forces digital communications companies to police and censor our speech and content, which can and has been weaponized for political gain

1

u/evelan2 17d ago

Eh we already have JD Vance

1

u/Ancient-Box-9136 17d ago

I think that’s just the current American administration

2

u/DNA_sk 15d ago

Nah, eunuchs are competent.

Like Grok answering how the Venuzelans might react to the kidnapping of their president?
