My friend sent me this screenshot of his last game.
He said the game was in "Yakuman ready" state at that point in the game but we both don't understand why...
Could it be because of a counted Yakuman or something ?

Felt this was an interesting spot to share. During the game, pressed by time, I failed to notice the one much safer tile (and the few that aren't reliable but better than what I ended up with), and dealt into a quite tilting double ron, securing last place (though kami's ron didn't matter, it was entirely down to shimo flipping 3 ura).

I've been playing Majsoul for over a year now, and have only tried Ranked mode. I don't know why exactly but I feel a bit overwhelmed by the many tournament modes and instructions. Although just a few, every time I felt a tad curious, I couldn't bring myself to reading and understanding the rules before entering one. Maybe I'm just lazy :v For example, does tournament involve having to agree to play at a certain date and time throughout a specific period, like irl tournaments? Etc.

i don't have any pairs so shouldn't i keep the nobetan shape and complete the ryankan to tenpai? 7p should also be somewhat safe to cut because no one reacted to kami earlier

Not the first time I do it [Second picture]. This time, however, I know better how I did it instead of just thinking "Huh, is sanma really that easy?" or "Am I abusing a bug or something?": A) Respecting/Aiming to respect MAKA (99% of the time) and why* in each case; and B) Keeping my greed in check so I do not to throw [This includes not opening my hand or declaring riichi at the wrong time/with bad waits (in riichi case)]. Punishment for being silly at the wrong round* comes at a great cost.

Normally I wouldn't post this type of stuff on reddit but I'm absolutely stumped on this one. Why is 8m even remotely close to being safe? I can see maybe for the dealer but the guy on my right is clearly waiting for manzu

Is there any possibility that they are doing a second rerun? Have they ever done this before?

I drew 4s into riichi-only tenpai. Maka wanted me to riichi into a 7s single tile wait (38-48, discard-riichi). I didn't take it because it puts me at risk when I don't need the points, and left lord has a pinzu honitsu that I can't defend against if I riichi.

Although not riiching backfired as I would've gotten ippatsu. Here, I chii 7s and discarded 4s for furiten junchan tenpai. There were no 1s discarded yet, so at the time I thought I could still draw it from the wall (little did I know all the 1s are with the other players), and I can fold anytime.

Wwyd? Riichi? Skip chii for 7s tsumo? Even if you drew the 7s, would you still throw 4s to hunt for junchan? It's a rare yaku I probably would still throw the win for.

If you're curious about the ending, across lord kanned and gave me dora 3 then dealt into right lord with the same 1s I was looking for.

Feels like I'm the only one using Toru and Hinana.

wasn't sure what to do here; cutting 8s seem really good because 7s is suji. but 8s + east wait also feels equally strong

All last. Ryanmen on 6s-9s on turn 4 with 4 tiles left for both.

Dama is either 3han 30 fu (dora/dora/pinfu) with a ron so 3900 points or 4 han 20 fu with a Tsumo so 5200 points. Both keep me in 3rd place.

Riichi is at least 4 han 30 fu with Ron so 7700 points or 5 han 20 fu with Tsumo so mangan and both make me reach second place.

I went for Riichi and grabbed my second place but it seems it was not the optimal choice here.

It's always sad to be so close yet so far from a yakuman, but the mahjong gods do truly love to give you "chances" that were never going to come to fruition anyway.
