Not quite sure I get the question so feel free to correct me.
But it both follows M and H in the 'real world' and how they learn all the stuff and handle making the manga, as well as showing the manga they end up making.
I think they chose the character names to match the real artists just as a nice meta reference to make it more 'immersive'
