Burning effect if you want the best of the action genre

335km if you want a refreshing take on the zombie apocalypse genre with romance

My beloved oppressor if you want a complex, morally gray couple trying to come to terms with one another while going through many emotional tribulations along the way.

You have a delightfully expansive taste, my friend. But tell me more about Burning Effect? I could look it up but it would be more fun to read your insight.

Shii aight more than happy to talk about it.

Burning effect is an absolute ride of a story that depicts a story if a young hotheaded woman named burner, trying to bring about change within a dystopian society that executes anyone who commits a crime, regardless of severity.

The concept, while not anything particularly unique, is done in such a wonderful way that it easily stands out among the rest.

The actions scenes are honestly cream of the crop, the author takes advantage of the downward scrolling medium by showing the speed of characters and intensity of their fights. The simple yet effective colourless artstyle allows for much more dynamic posing, giving fight scenes their much needed physical force,.

The writing is just STRAIGHT HEAT, it really highlights how even in a world that breeds only darkness and despair, there will always be a spark that brings about hope. Even though they may be following the usual "do gooders don't kill no matter what" philosophy, the way they handle it thematically just makes sense. There is no wasted plot points or interactions, everything happens for a reason

Every character that plays a major role in the story have their own motives and beliefs, making each one of them feel that much more alive. I can write a whole essay in great as a character but I don't wanna spoil rn.

The world building is expansive and intricate, exploring the sides of both the lacking and privileged, providing us explanations as to how the growing wealth and power disparity only seeks to extinguish the lower class, all the more emphasising the need for change.

I hate this word. I hate it so much. But it really just shows how much I love it when I can wholeheartedly say it is PEAK, genuinely a life changing read especially when you're going through some hard times.

I remember finding Northern Blade also masterful with the vertical panels at depicting action so, but the ending of it really disappointed me so. Maybe Burning Effect can help restore that lost expectation. And a female MC to boot? I'm sold.

Hell yeas, tbh I dropped lotn around 3/4 of the way, I could feel the drop off in quality and just didn't really enjoy it as much as other people.

But my GOAT on the other hand, stays ON TOP all the way through to the ending, you could tell the entire story was planned out from start to finish.

Anyways once Ur done reading BE, you can follow it with domination>dating to survive>the graymark. All of them are connected to each other to quite a great extent, the graymark is the equivalent of avengers endgame for the series and a direct sequel to BE. So while probably not necessary, it's best to read the others too for extra clarity.

SSS-class revival hunter has some really heartfelt plot-lines, highly recommend
Got trapped in a ghost story, still gotta work is very silly and a fun read (gen i binged it in an hour)
A painter who paints dungeons is another low key story that follows an mc that we slowly learn more about
Reborn as a hatchling is another cutsy one if you like rebirth/second life comics

Honestly highly recommend the first 2
