Discussion The pairing of Nebula and Rocket sounds so odd compare to the other character combos, but it actually works so well. It's actaully one of my favourite parts of endgame.

It's crazy that these 2 amazing and complex characters in the mcu sphere, seeing 2 out of 7 members of the GOTG being the last members to survive in the post Thanos world, and it's actually works so well especially with the other surviving members of the Avengers, and I think it gets less attention when we talk about Endgame as a cinematic celebration and event that everyone was there and saw 8 years ago.

Their bond in Endgame was so well written because they were both dealing with extreme survivor's guilt and losing everyone they cared about. That quiet scene sharing coffee really grounded them.

It’s such a good piece of visual storytelling. Classic “show me, don’t tell me”.

One of the things they have in common is they grew up surrounded by cruelty and forcibly painfully enhanced.

Indeed, their 2 different side of a coin

I loved Nebula and Tony at the beginning of Endgame. A strange set of companions developing mutual respect at what they think is the end.

I’m a little sad we didn’t get some quick moment of them together later on.

Since the opening scene of Endgame I have this really dumb piece of fan fiction in my head that I always wanted but don't want because it ruins too much of what makes Nebula, Nebula.

In the comics Nebula gets the gauntlet for a bit and restores her original humanoid self.

My dumb brain thinks it would have been cool or cute or whatever, in a really, really, dumb way that Nebula would have gotten restored after Tony snapped the gauntlet.

They would have spent a lot of time in the Benetar together. Tony would have known her whole story. Considered her a friend.

My stupid brain thinks it would of been neat to see that there's more than one way to restore the lives that Thanos had stolen.

When Nebula, Quill, and Drax get choked up when they hear that Rocket died in GoTG 3 was so heartbreaking

I loved how she was filled with tears of joy when she heard they managed to bring him back.

When Nebula broke down in GOTG3 when she found out Rocket was okay, that got me.

They went through the same trauma pulled apart and pieced together

Of all the pairs to be the only survivors from the Guardians, this was the best choice.

They way Nebula spits out “merry Christmas” when she gives him Bucky’s arm 🥰

It was so nice to see her shedding tears for him in Gotg3. They really became a family🥹

I really wanted Nebula to meet Vision. Their histories should contrast nicely

did anyone else feel her line felt really forced when in gotg3 she said "this is worse than what thanos did to me". i like how they have similar upbringing but i dont think it shoulda been a competition

Due to the Blip, Rocket’s been teamed up with Nebula longer than anyone else except for Groot. Other than Groot and Gamora, they’re probably each other’s best friend.

I also liked the scenes with Rocket and Yondu. It’s a shame Yondu could not live long enough to form a good bond with Nebula.

Interesting fact, at the end of Endgame she and Rocket have spent more time with each other than almost any other pairing of current Guardians, since the current Groot and Gamora are technically alternate versions (and Gamora isn't a member at that point). The only pairing that technically beats them out is Peter and Kraglin, who don't really seem to have a friend relationship as much as a kooky uncle/cousin relationship.

that is true

I’m really glad that Nebula got the screen time she did in Endgame.

Yep, she's the best

So is Nebula’s middle stripe that is purple sometimes and blue others a piece of hardware she can swap similar to the orange piece she gets in Endgame, or is it her skin that she can paint?

I’m not positive she has anything you can call “skin” left.

I do agree. I always felt that line could’ve been written differently. It diminished her experience while trying to relate them at the same time.

Nebula is my fav guardian!

Her arc from Endgame into Gotg3 is one of the best the MCU has ever produced.

They’re both people that got experimented on and turned into cyborgs it doesn’t sound that odd

true, but the pairing is different to say the least
