Question How is Doctor Doom such a huge threat?

Post image

Hi guys, could someone explain to a non-comics reader, without too many spoilers, why Dr Doom is considered such a huge menace?

The only two versions of Doom I've really seen are the Fantastic Four 2005 movie (fantastic cast, by the way) and the Spider-Man animated series from the '90s.

In both, he seemed pretty underwhelming to me. He felt roughly on the same level as regular Spider-Man villains, maybe a little above, but definitely not like an existential-level threat comparable to someone like Thanos.

No magic or reality-warping just raw physical strength and durability. Which Marvel characters could take Black Bolt's full-power scream head-on and survive?

Question Is Agatha all along worth watching?

VisionQuest is near, and because of that I'm rewatching WandaVision (and I'm flabbergasted at how good and heartbroken it is, probably my top 1 Marvel series). I was planning on watching Agatha all along after, but I'm in doubt if it's worth watching or if I just watch a resume on YouTube, because I've seen more criticism than compliments about it, and it would be good to not waste 8 hours if that's the case.

Edit: thanks for the feedback y'all. I'll watch it, really curious to see about Wanda and Vision's son, and how it's connected to VisionQuest. Also hope they're going to be on Doomsday in some way (I'm not looking at leaks and stuff to be sure about it)

Question How come 2023 Captain America struggled against 2012 Captain America?

Post image

In Avengers Endgame, how come 2023 Captain America struggled against 2012 Captain America?
Surely, Steve in 2023 should have been stronger in 11 years, since he's the type of character who trains frequently.

It's not like 2023 Captain was holding back against 2012 Captain, because even if he killed 2012 Captain by accident, it won't affect his timeline, since it's branched (explained by Hulk).

Any thoughts?

Question Why does nobody ever touch the time stone directly ? The ancient one doesn't touch it, and even when doctor strange gave it to Thanos, neither of them actually touches it. Is there any actual reason for that ?

Question Is Stormbreaker more powerful because it's made with Groot's arm versus the actual handle

Not sure if this has been asked before so I apologize for the redundant question but I’m genuinely curious as to why they chose Groot to sacrifice an arm to create stormbreaker rather than use the original handle.

Was it just to connect the characters or was it to honor the comics or something else?

Question Why do fans give Doctor Strange a pass for the NWH spell disaster? Is his lack of caution justified because the Ancient One saw him as "the best of us," or did Marvel just nerf his intelligence for plot?

I don't think anyone who didn't watch she-hulk knew about Skaar. Literally what was the purpose of introducing him into the MCU if he has no plans for any upcoming movie or show. There's not even any mention of him when Hulk was in BND, let alone any little details like maybe a photo of them together at the university at his desk? Did Hulk just abandon his own son bro 😭

Question Did I get Mandela Effected? (Avengers: Endgame)

This is a question that's been bugging me since 2019, and I figure with Encore in theaters, now is as good a time as any to ask the internet.

Did they change War Machine/Iron Patriot's coloring after release?

I saw Endgame twice in theaters. First upon release, and then second sometime later with a friend.

In my first viewing, the final battle featured Rhodey's new armor in the classic War Machine colors. When I went back the second time, the armor was colored like Iron Patriot (and this is the version that exists on home media).

I remember being shocked when I was sitting in the theater for my second viewing, as War Machine is one of my favorite characters, so I didn't just misremember. In fact, there WAS a pre-release version of the scene with the classic colors, as featured in a TV spot (pictured (also this is a TV spot I never saw and found out about it after the fact)).

Did anybody else experience this after seeing Endgame upon release? I know Marvel has retroactively changed their films during their initial release window on different occasions, so it isn't unprecedented. Just hoping for some validation that this DID exist at one point.

TL;DR: Pretty convinced Marvel changed the color on War Machine while Endgame was still in theaters.

Question Was there any deliberate reason the MCU introduced 3 new heroes in the Multiverse Saga who all happen to be indestructible flying powerhouses that were also antagonists at some point?

Post image

I really some how thought it was going to be a common occurrence across the movies that was going to lead to something, having these insane powerhouses (almost Superman archetypes) all getting introduced in the multiverse saga.. along with Captain Marvel already existing, but thinking about it now, maybe it was all just a coincidence.

Question How does Captain America end up here without using the time machine to return?

Post image

I've been trying to google this but i'm not really getting the results i want because people are mostly talking about like Doomsday related stuff.

My question is, how can Cap be here without using the machine to get there? The time travel mechanics are very confusing to me, but my understanding of how it works is that you aren't really going back in time, you're going into another reality or whatever bullshit, so Cap goes back, stays there, yet is still able to line up perfectly or whatever with the actual events of the entire MCU and he decides to just pre emptively go to this bench and wait for Sam and them? Its super confusing to me.

Like even trying to think about this confuses me so fucking hard, basically, how is he here without using the machine to get back?
