I need help creating a steakhouse menu.

I am thinking of starting a steak house out of my kitchen, so without an actual physical diner that people can come into, it will only be on IG and on food delivery apps, so far from the menu i only have the classic steak dish (steak with a side of mashed puree potatoes) with 4 varieties of sauces, and a steak sandwich with chimichurri, do you guys have any recommendations for other menu items?? Could be salads, main dishes, etc etc, i generally want to stay away from pasta and from fries, open for any other suggestions.

You absolutely should not do this if you need to come to Reddit for advice. You’re not ready lmao

It’s seriously funny the amount of hate that reddit users carry for anyone who they think is not worthy of their level of knowledge, we get it, you’re mr steak god, no need to be an asshole though, if i ask for help, it doesn’t mean that i don’t know what i’m doing, i just asked for opinions, now go back to hating on someone else’s post

Just what I want a steak that has been sitting for an hour waiting on the pothead app delivery person to show up.
My hats off to you but strongly suggest you rethink your concept. Plus have you seen the prices of beef proteins these days? And it’s about to go up higher due to diesel prices.

Thank you, prices aren’t a concern, I’m not in the US, not everyone is lmao, i will stick to serving steak sandwiches at first until i can afford to open an actual location.

Why would you try to start a restaurant (which a huge endeavor both in terms of labor and overhead) instead of just going to work in a steakhouse for a bit?

make me a blue rare steak after rest. not raw or rare but blue. eternal temperature over room temperature not to rare. if can do that then go for it. People think I can make a bomb medium steak but no skills to make what someone wants.

I suggest you understand that making one steak once is not the same as making 50 steaks and 50 sides and 50 salads once. But good luck.

I understand what you’d like to be able to do.

It’s a non starter.

Keep that thought and energy onward and you’ll have fun.

I will probably stick to serving steak sandwiches and meat sandwiches in general until i can afford to start an actual restaurant, only then will i serve steaks to customers, thank you

Consider, for a second, that If you can’t think of steakhouse dishes on your own you might not be the right person to open a steakhouse.

Also, as another commenter noted, steak doesn’t travel well. There’s no way it’ll be at temp by the time it reaches the customer’s table. It’ll overcook as it steams in the packaging and then be cold by the time it arrives. The worst of both worlds.

Thank you for the insight!
I will probably steer clear from steaks, and stick to serving steak / meat sandwiches at first, and once i can afford to open up an actual restaurant, only then will i serve steaks.

Baked potatoes. And sweet potatoes. Sautéed mushrooms. Creamed spinach. Sautéed Brussel sprouts with bacon.

Steak (in its thick cut juicy form) travels terribly (imo) by the time you get your order packed and delivered people will most likely need to microwave their steak which defeats the purpose IMO of having g a steak.

Now yes you could do thin steaks like a steak sandwich and fajitas etc but then I don’t think you could call yourself a steak house.

I’m not a chef. But I’ve packed enough steak meals for work and been disappointed to now that once you miss that original cooked window everything else is third rate at best.
