I tend to think of it as more Bladerunner vibes ... which invariably influence cyberpunk.

Feels cold

If it’s from today it was a pleasant temperature and not windy either. Perfect weather for fans of rain

Am a fan of rain- it was lovely to walk around in.

I lived in Melbourne for a couple of years, and I still remember how many cold, rainy days there were. One of the first things I heard there was, “In Melbourne, you can experience four seasons in a day!”

Some of my most favourite Melbourne moments are in the rain. The photo is amazing

Why haven't any teens smashed that bus stop yet? I suppose its got some tags.

1

u/yesicanna May 18 '26

It can't rain all the time...

1

u/frightenedscared May 18 '26

Serious Bladerunner vibes, this is beautiful

2

u/Dubliminal May 18 '26

Glad to hear you see Bladerunner rather than Cyberpunk ... cos that's my jam.

1

u/frightenedscared May 18 '26

It has that retro and liminal feeling of Bladerunner… And its raining so much in that movie, this photo fits right in! Hope to see more of your art!

1

u/backinyourbox May 19 '26

Great photo!

1

u/Slowlydivingg May 19 '26

How do you get a shot like this?

1

u/Dubliminal May 19 '26

To some degree it's experience, but it's mostly about being able to visualise. I knew I wanted to use the tram tracks and power lines as leading lines and the shelter on the left gave a solid anchor point and the rain did the rest.

In terms of post processing, the orange and greens were already there in the scene so I just leaned into them more and then added some other local adjustments.

u/melbourne_au2021 May 19 '26

what camera did you use to take this photo?

1

u/Dubliminal May 19 '26

Nikon D850,but any half decent camera could do it.

1

u/Cold_Ad_8813 May 20 '26

Love this picture, I hear daft punk big city nights for some reason.

1

u/Mediocre-Yoghurt6706 May 21 '26

Looks like a movie shot, nice job!

1

u/sophtopia May 23 '26

If I was still in my 2013 Tumblr era, I’d probably be staring at this on the train home from school and crying about some boy. Wicked shot

1

u/Afraid-Ad7165 May 25 '26

This reminds me of my uni days traveling back home to the outer eastern suburbs on a cold winters evening. Brrr

One second, I know this stop; is this #65 Starling St going towards the city on the 75?

1

u/Dubliminal May 17 '26

Looks like that's what it says on the sign.
