2026 Melbourne Marathon Results Chart Full & Half

Hey Melbourne!

I ran my first half marathon here on Sunday and was curious to see how my time stacked up against everyone else who competed.

While looking into the results, I came across a post by u/TomasTTEngin from last year and decided to put together something similar for this year's event.

Thought I'd share it with the Melbourne community, especially anyone who ran on Sunday or is interested in the stats!

Thanks for this. I was wondering what the DNF rate was this year compared to last year, considering the heat & water issues?

Full was roughly 415

Half was around 220

I defeninitley saw a lot of people getting medical attention on the day.

It's interesting the median holds until about 50yrs old and then the time increases at a standard rate.

I would have thought physical decline would start earlier and trail off expotentially

Probably, but counteracted by having people who have more years of training

I guess there's a survivor bias too. The ones who fall off with age probably aren't doing marathons in their 60s.

Maybe it's a thing where most prior step back to 1/2 marathons as you get older rather than reduce your pace. And then there's a core cohort of hard bastards who will keep running marathons until they die

Probably all that and also stamina doesn't decrease as quickly with as as strength or flexibility.

I did the Melbourne half marathon in 2010 in just under 1 hour 49 minutes and had an asshat mate do a half marathon on the other side of the world in 1 hour 33 to take all the shine off.

Don’t feel so bad now.
