I did nothing yesterday and now I have ALL of the chores and errands to do.
Waaaaaaa why can’t I be more organised on a Saturday and not a complete potato?!

Honestly the last few days I’ve had serious thoughts of leaving Melbourne. I feel like on most days during nice weather I’m confined to my apartment. It’s so unfair.

Nothing to do with Melbourne, but something cool to show your loved ones ... overnight in Hawaii there was some spectacular erupting hot lava, temporarily watchable at this youtube livestream that has 24 hours of scrollback (so it will disappear in a few hours). Good times to look at are Oct 17 08:00, 06:00, 04:30 and 05:01 (Hawaii time, bottom right corner), when the camera spends a minute or so panning around.

Went to my first arena concert last night: Zara Larsson. Was a lot of fun but a few points;
The event page said you’re allowed to bring in a soft plastic water bottle under 750mL, so I brought one & was told the lid needed to be taken off at entrance? I’ve never heard of that before
Omg, it felt like every 4th or 5th person was coughing. I’m so glad I brought my mask despite literally being the only person I saw wearing one
Wow all the girls dressed up & looked so cute with their early 00s euro pop aesthetic. Zara also has an unbelievable voice & stage presence. If you’re able to, you should try to see her Thursday at Rod Laver

Every venue at the olympic park precinct has the no cap on bottles . Cant remember why though

Probably because an empty projectile bottle does less damage than a full projectile bottle. AKA why we can't have nice things

Sounds fun! The lids come off - usually at the artist or promoters request - to prevent people from throwing full bottles onto the stage. It’s a safety issue.

Does anyone know why the United petrol station on Kings Way is permanently closed?
•
u/samdiatmh 3h ago
the United website disagrees with that, so might just be a temporary thing - appears to not be open generally between 11pm and 6am
and that's probably the main issue, operating without having a person there is a BIG problem that fuel companies are dealing with (generally the overnight shift) - the demand for "humanless payments" is there, but the technology to do it is on a pretty long backorder

The United on Dynon road is the same. All the signage says Open 24/7.
However it is not open 24/7 anymore.

Strange, I always thought they were a 24 hour servo. So weird for a servo on such a busy main road to be closed at night.

GODDAMNIT. I had a little accident yesterday and didn't notice I had a wound that was weeping blood until I got home. It wasn't a lot just tiny spots but I put it in the wash and it hasn't come out. They're my good linen pants and I'm beside myself.
