I wouldn't say immoral like the original commenter but very tone deaf as because of the popularity and success of Obsession, people are trying to turn Nikki into some generic slasher villain while completing ignoring the point and meaning of the movie and her character. Because she is a woman who had her body and mind stolen from her to fullfil the wishes of someone else. She is a victim in the story and yet she ends up being carried around as the crazy obsessed killer girl, because that is what people want her to be presented as.

Yes and the real people deserve all the help and support they can get. You can also shame and call out the people who wanna do weird things with characters.
But fictional characters do not get actual trauma. There's nothing to subject them to against their will since they don't and never will have any.
That's all I'm calling out. Getting riled up on a fake person's behalf is weird

Rule34, if it exists, there is porn of it. So: if you plan your life, or your decisions around "is someone going to make porn of this" you will never do anything. weird people are going to be weird.
i havent seen the movie, but you could also say 'a whole generation of people is going to be introduced to this character and the story behind her through this video game'. So the story and maybe even the moral of it will get much further reach.
