If Harambe had torn that kid in half (as he could have done easily) then Harambe would still be alive.

I doubt it, he wouldnt be in a zoo for people to just come see at the very least lol. Dogs get put down for biting people.

Dogs are put down because they are not in enclosures.

And if the dog was in an enclosure - say, if they're carefully confined into your backyard - and someone hops the fence and trespasses onto your property and subsequently gets harmed by the dog - I don't think the dog should be put down in that scenario either.

Dogs are expected to be amongst humans and be able to deal with that. Gorillas and tigers: not so much. Different standards apply.
