The concrete bollards were not enough, time to upgrade to full air defense systems.

I believe it’s that radical muslims have injured and killed people at the Christmas markets in acts of terrorism. The meme is that now they could use a flying car, so the markets will need air defense systems, which is the military vehicles in the picture.

It's not just radical muslims. The attack that has prompted the biggest reaction this far in Germany took place in 2024 and was committed by a Saudi who was a militant critic of islam. For him, it was apparently about the treatment of Saudi refugees in Germany. Now, regardless of what you think about that cause, of course the attack was in no way justified. But it wasn't religiously motivated and wasn't even classified as an act of terrorism since there was no terrorist organisation behind it.
Anyway, it's as a reaction to cases like this one (but particularly this one) that now, obstacles are put up where the market meets the road. Those are either made of concrete or filled with sand in order to stop cars.
But if cars could reasonably fly like that, you'd need air defenses to stop them reliably.5

The 2024 christmas market attack wasn't islamic terrorism, but the ones in 2016 (Berlin) and 2018 (Strasbourg, France) were. The 2016 one is the "original" one and is much more remembered by people in Europe. 2/3 so christmas markets definitely are inherently connected to Islamic terrorism. Absolutely vile to do it on christmas specifically...

Scratch that, have you tried not being an oil magnate or foreign influencer in Saudi Arabia?

Yeah, ocourse we have cups in the staff kitchen at work and anytime I'd drink from them, I had to look at a "made in the UAE" stamp at the bottom and immediately be reminded, that there's quite the chance, that it was made with actual slave labour.
Safe to say, I've brought my own cup by now.

Oh. I thought it was referring to how Elon has pulled his support for Starlink from Ukraine so now it's more likely for Russian missiles to "accidentally" hit European targets.

Radical Muslims!? LOL maaaaaybe the post is referring to the CURRENT state of affairs over in European countries and the need to possibly armor up as new conflicts arise every. single. day!!!

in what world is radical muslims an overdramatisation? it is by fact exactly that. The problem isn't the normal religion. The problem is that we have too many of this religion that got let in and don't get arrested beforehand although almost all of them being people known to the police for years. There are milions and millions of good muslims

Kinda weird to say that when the only one to use a Tesla in a terror attack was a white Christian veteran.

Christians are horribly underrepresented in driving into crowds in Christmas markets, yes. Racism, as always, is to blame.

You are right. They normally just shoot schools up.

Ok so I see that white shooters are underrepresented. We can talk about black and brown shooters being classified as white if you'd like, but I'm sure you'd call that a conspiracy theory
2
u/TheLastTitan77 2h ago
Lately it's been other ppl shooting up christian schools. Sadly can't say who
-1
u/kagethemage 2h ago
Overwhelmingly white men.
4
u/nate_the_great02 2h ago
I'm just learning today that "overwhelmingly" means 55% of the shooters come from like 65% of the population

Not a concern if you go to the eastern European Christmas markets where those countries didn’t sell out their safety for votes
0
u/D4nnyp3ligr0 3h ago
What does this mean?
3
u/No_Taste_112 3h ago
That they don't have any cultural ambassadors from Al Qaidah, like most of western europe does.
1
u/D4nnyp3ligr0 3h ago
I have no idea what this means. Why not just say what you mean?
1
u/fullpurplejacket 2h ago
Because they’re doing a racist dog whistle about Europe not banning everyone a darker shade of latte and those who aren’t Christian.
It’s part of the USA propaganda of civilisational collapse in Europe

u/D4nnyp3ligr0 2h ago
I imagined it would be something like that but I don't understand why they mentioned votes. Is increasing immigration supposed to be a vote winner? As far as I can tell it's the opposite.

u/Round-Suggestion-331 2h ago edited 2h ago
I can only speak for the UK. Essentially, left wing parties thrive on mass migration with no vetting. Rather than "lets just have skilled people coming here", they have the attitude of "let everyone come here", which in turn has seen crimes like sexual assault and rape skyrocket.
Recently the very far left Green party came out and signed a mandate of "anti zionism" which is the simple way for them to be "anti-jew" in order to appease the muslim vote, who flock to them under the "free palestine" movement
Bear in mind, a decade ago the green party was one that had a single goal - removal of carbon emissions and other green policies (hence the name). They realised they can farm the muslim vote by being pro mass migration and anti jewish, and their stance worked, membership is up 300% in the space of 5 years.
They're still too small to get in power but big enough to influence things on a local level (which is everything but green energy now)
6
u/D4nnyp3ligr0 1h ago
But the Green Party isn't responsible for the mass immigration of the last decades. That was the Conservatives who all the while campaigned on anti-immigration.
3
u/Blazured 57m ago
The Right-wing in the UK are the ones who massively increased immigration and also refused to process asylum seekers quickly, because it allowed them to put refugees in their mates hotels, which led to a huge backlog. And as soon as the Left finally got into power, immigration decreased.
So not sure why you're pretending it was the Left who increased immigration when it was actually the Right.

Europe is many countries, many of which are dependent on the US for defense and defense products, as evidenced by this image.

Hilarious how the ones who always complain we shouldn't spend money on military and point to Europe as their perfect example all of a sudden realize how important a military is when their precious Europe is attacked. Literally calling on the USA to save them while they try and catch up on their own military power.
3
u/Lawliet1896 3h ago
Yeah Europe profited a lot from u taking a lot of your defensive duties. Worked well for both I would say, but the critics are kinda right as you are now taking less responsibility and we take more.

WE need this anyway even without flying cars! I remember markets being fun, and just nice to walk around.
Now there is concrete pillers everywhere.
Meh.
