Never trust anyone on the street, no matter if you have your own vehicle or are on foot. I even check both sides of the street in a one-way street 'cause you never know.

You can always drive on the sidewalk /s
Tbh I do the same with the one-way streets, both as a driver and a pedestrian, better safe than sorry.

If I see someone pass me on the right on a highway or merge into any lane without using a signal, I make sure to slow down, keep half an eye on them, and let at least two or three car-lengths of distance open up between us. I figure either they don't know the rules of the road, or they are aware of the rules of the road and are consciously choosing to break them, but either option is terrible, and either way that's not a car you want near you.

Riding a Vespa taught me to be a better driver because you’ve gotta be on the lookout. With motorcycles, most truck drivers will respect you, but with a scooter you get zero respect from anyone and just have to anticipate the abuse. I was riding and said to my buddy over coms “watch out that truck is going to change lanes without looking” and no more than 10 seconds later that happened. After a while you just get a feel for the ways people will be stupid.

Always keep an eye on the person's tires next to you on the highway in relation to the lines.
Always look through the car in front of you's rear window to see when the person infront of them begins to brake.

It's not paranoid if happens,
it's not stupid if works,
Morality is pointless,
Law should be bended.
