In 6th grade the weird girl came to school a day early for Halloween dressed as a clown. Her parents didn’t pick her up, she just stayed like a clown all day. The next day when we all dressed up she was also a clown again.
It’s so absurd that I always laugh. This was 45 years ago and I still laugh. Then I feel bad for her again. It was obvious back then that there were school officials like teachers and bus drivers that had extreme empathy for her, and tried to take care of her. But the clown thing is just objectively funny.

When I was a freshman in college I had class on Halloween so I came to class in my Halloween costume. I went to a high school where this had been the expectation--even the teachers had elaborate costumes--so I didn't think anything of it.
(I was a devil with horns and an ankle-length red spider web dress with a devil tail belt so it was definitely safe for class. That had also been an expectation in high school.)
I was the only person to have a costume on. My 9am professor (who eventually wrote recommendation letters) walked in, looked at me, and cracked up laughing. I couldn't go back to my room until classes were over so I just wore it for several hours.
It was a little embarrassing at the time but I laugh now lol.
