We used to do that every year. The Christmas tree would come down and we would hang it upside down in the backyard. Mid spring it would be put it the fire pit and lit. Flames would shoot 40' in the air.

My home town, there was a winter festival during the February break. The local boy scout troops had designated drop off spots and you'd just take your tree to the spot and they'd haul them out on the frozen river and light a town of 30ks worth of trees on fire.

It was fucking awesome
