Do u dont wanna A restaurant tried to pull a switch-a-roo on the type of meat I was served.

So a group of us went to a local popular American chain steakhouse restaurant and all ordered different dishes. I ordered a filet, when my food arrived, I thought the steak looked more like a sirloin than a filet.

Upon taking my first bite it was chewy and not buttery like a filet. It was supposed to be an 8oz filet, it was more like 12oz sirloin, 2nd bite confirmed it was definitely not a filet.

I must’ve been visibly upset because the manager walked over and asked if everything was ok, to which I questioned the cut. She said it was a filet (but I think she went based on the toppings that are only offered on the filet). I said hmm ok, I guess.

She offered to switch it if I was not happy, I said it was fine, however, she insisted, so I accepted.. The second steak was a filet, appearance, taste and texture.. only the cook made it EXTRA peppery for me.. jokes on them I appreciated the extra pepper :)

Considering the difference in price between the two cuts is probably close to 100%, I think catching the restaurant scamming you is easily mildly infuriating.

It could have easily been an accident.

Of course it was a mistake. The cooks at Outback aren't in the kitchen saying "Ok, lets scam this customer by switching steaks so the company can make a few extra bucks ."

I agree. The comment I replied to said they caught the restaurant scamming them.

A shitty kitchen manager might push that though. I remember all our KMs were cutting hours like crazy and denying 6 month reviews, crying recession in'08. Come to find out, they were all getting big monthly bonuses for labor costs and the store was doing better numbers that year than they were letting on.

I fucking hated that place, they pulled some heinous shit well beyond just staffing and pay issues but that's a different story.

It doesn't matter! It's mildly infuriating. You are hugely infuriating!

You are hugely dramatic. I never denied that it was mildly infruriating. I'm just saying it could have been an accident as opposed to the restaurant intentionally scamming peoole.

I can be hugely dramatic that is true but I never said they were scamming? And definitely never intended it.

I don't know how to quote someone here but the comment I replied to said "I think catching the restaurant scamming you is easily mildly infruriating". I replied to their comment then you replied to me.

No. Not at all. I was replying to you saying it was an accident. It doesn't matter if it's an accident - it's also mildly infuriating. There's no mention of scamming in our thread at all. Look at the single comment thread. I have not edited one of my comments.

I did not reply directly to you. I replied to someone who replied to your comment.

There are about a dozen people here telling the exact same story.
