Do u dont wanna A restaurant tried to pull a switch-a-roo on the type of meat I was served.

So a group of us went to a local popular American chain steakhouse restaurant and all ordered different dishes. I ordered a filet, when my food arrived, I thought the steak looked more like a sirloin than a filet.

Upon taking my first bite it was chewy and not buttery like a filet. It was supposed to be an 8oz filet, it was more like 12oz sirloin, 2nd bite confirmed it was definitely not a filet.

I must’ve been visibly upset because the manager walked over and asked if everything was ok, to which I questioned the cut. She said it was a filet (but I think she went based on the toppings that are only offered on the filet). I said hmm ok, I guess.

She offered to switch it if I was not happy, I said it was fine, however, she insisted, so I accepted.. The second steak was a filet, appearance, taste and texture.. only the cook made it EXTRA peppery for me.. jokes on them I appreciated the extra pepper :)

That could be really bad for someone who doesn't eat pork for either religious, cultural, or medical reasons. I can't have pork.

Lawsuit waiting to happen.

Are there medical reasons to not eat pork?

Yes, but the exact same reasons would also apply to beef anyway. There's at least 2 major world religions with a prohibition on pork, though.

For me it's just pork that gives me migraines. Not beef.

Someone could have a red meat allergy or migraine disorder (me, sadly).

So unlikely to be ordering steak?

When I ask for my steak rare and they try to give me tapeworms, yeah.

Yes, I'm allergic to it.

It wouldn't be bad because religious diets typically permit mistakes.

I mean that would still make it bad. It would be bad but they wouldn't explode or get sent straight to hell.

Those things wouldn’t happen even if they did it on purpose because invisible wizards aren’t real.

The point is they should feel bad about it under their morality system.

What about people who can't have it for medical reasons

Some folks can't process/tolerate animal proteins from particular species, and it can make them ill in various ways as a result. Others may have allergies.

I'm allergic to pork, it makes my digestion basically halt, inflame, and I get hives.

That’s just the roundworms migrating to your brain.

Edit: it’s a joke about Trichinosis, which is a big reason why some of us don’t eat pork

No, it's an amino acid my body can't tolerate called tyramine. It's also in aged cheeses, fermented foods, and wine.

Not bad as in automatic ticket to hell (at least for Islam AFAIK) but it'd still be bad as in upsetting.
