Do u dont wanna A restaurant tried to pull a switch-a-roo on the type of meat I was served.

So a group of us went to a local popular American chain steakhouse restaurant and all ordered different dishes. I ordered a filet, when my food arrived, I thought the steak looked more like a sirloin than a filet.

Upon taking my first bite it was chewy and not buttery like a filet. It was supposed to be an 8oz filet, it was more like 12oz sirloin, 2nd bite confirmed it was definitely not a filet.

I must’ve been visibly upset because the manager walked over and asked if everything was ok, to which I questioned the cut. She said it was a filet (but I think she went based on the toppings that are only offered on the filet). I said hmm ok, I guess.

She offered to switch it if I was not happy, I said it was fine, however, she insisted, so I accepted.. The second steak was a filet, appearance, taste and texture.. only the cook made it EXTRA peppery for me.. jokes on them I appreciated the extra pepper :)

Was over 15 years ago, I can’t remember but it was the Mall of America location so lots of tourists and locals(since the twin cities are a massive melting pot). As the Asian guy I do remember him telling me I should only drink grapefruit juice which….i don’t actually think I ever have in my life so that’s fun.

Also, grapefruit is the iconic fruit of "middle aged white couple trying to eat healthy because the husband has high cholesterol" so associating it with Asians (Asian is itself a deeply unhelpful term to refer to what might be the second most diverse collections of cultures, climates, and appearances on earth, after Africans) is bizarre.

Man I feel so alone in my love of grapefruit everything sometimes. It's a good fruit dammit!

Edit: I do know it interacts with medications, I've been on some before as well. But a lot of people just hate it straight up

The soda is good. I hear it's better with tequila and dry Curacao.

I enjoy grapefruit juice but I'm not supposed to have it in the morning with my medication 😓

I can't have it anymore because of a medication. I miss it so much. Enjoy it on my behalf

There are a lot of people who can’t have grapefruit because it interacts with so many medications. So they may appreciate it but can’t have it!

I can’t get past the bitterness of grapefruit unless I’m on acid, at which point it becomes the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted.

I enjoy grapefruit too, but it interacts with my migraine meds sadly.

Grapefruit of any kind, fresh or as juice can actually mess with an elderly person's prescription meds.I found this out with my elderly father's meds .This is why you won't find this listed on any menu in my town.He couldn't have any acidic juice at all.No pineapple, orange or grapefruit juice. I can't even find fresh pineapple or grapefruit in my town.

That is the worst location I have ever been to. I lived right near there and would drive to Burnsville if I wanted ihop.
