It makes it easier... It's a good thing.

My 2 year old knows it as:

ABCDEFG

HIJKL and M

NOP

QRS

TUV

WXYZ

It's not like they've changed the alphabet, it just stops kids getting stuck at that weird elemenopee run in the middle and helps them differentiate between the letters at an earlier age.

Kinda ruins the whole "song" portion of the song

You can kind of make it fit the same tune at a stretch, the kids don't seem to care.

That said we're British so the latter portion doesn't rhyme anyway (zed).

well now it rhymes none lol

But the rhyming and rhythm help with memory. If you take that away, what was the purpose of the song?

Rhyming also helps a lot with early literacy. So, again, why take away the parts that rhyme?

Well I don't know, maybe it'll prove to be disastrous for an entire generation. But they seem to be grasping it just fine.

It's also zed in some other languages, but so that it rhymes with "that's the letters of the alphabet".

"In some other languages"

Germanic ones at least.

I am misinterpreted. I make my text more clear so that I am less likely to get misinterpreted by others.

This is a bad thing somehow.

It doesn't, you just need to hear it sung. It works well.

though if the hard part is lmnop, why replace it with wxyz, which is arguably harder. it even has more syllables. and make the entire song not rhyme anymore on top of that

I think it's because the hard sounds of W X Y Z gives a clearer vocal seperation. Few children are sounding out a single letter called doubleyouexx or whyzee but ellem or ennoo blend together easier.

They should just rawdog it in a monotone drawl.

Singing the alphabet in monospace.

Bruh that just turns it in my head to "andemenope", that's not that big of a change
