Too mild for school My stepdad keeps putting these things all over the house

Post image

He refuses to believe that they're a scam despite showing multiple videos of people testing them and ripping them open and showing that it's legit just an led light. It started with just 1 before I went on a small trip. I come back and there's 3 more around the house

If your dad has not always been a little dim, maybe replace his carbon monoxide detector to be safe. Not trying to insult your dad, some of the most successful people I know got there with a good attitude, hard work, and not much else.. but this is a little worrisome if not normal shenanigans for him. I guess even the best of us get scammed at some point.. this one hurts.

Anyway, thanks for the public service announcements on these little buggers. I love how they use "The result is the best" on the label. Totally qualitative statement about nothing descriptive. They could mean people giving them practically free money.. so it would hold in court.

EDIT: Maybe tell him it's a neat idea but you want to go bigger, and buy an actual Lithium battery unit for the home if it makes economic sense for you. There is a real product out there (Tesla Powerwall comes to mind, but I would look elsewhere).. just very expensive unless you have huge differential power prices.

You know how many people fall for business language? Most business people. Stake holders being used to prop up failing companies is how most successful business now work. NuGenix was started by people with a degree in business not medicine or even supplements or chemistry.

Unrelated but I always laugh at how close that is to “Eugenics”. I can’t even remember what it is, it’s just the eugenics commercial to me.

This is a very generous approach to the fact that, especially as humans age, we tend to be even more stubborn and stuck in our ways just because of how human psychology works. The idea of being 'wrong' about one small thing in our world view often send us into a tailspin over the idea of "well, if I'm wrong about this, what else am I wrong about?"

The most mature of us in various aspects(emotional, psychological, intellectual, etc) can handle it, process the idea, and move on. The less so, not so much.

I appreciate you 🫶🏻
