humankind hiccups 😅 Accidentally asked for no matcha in my matcha Frappuccino

Post image

Thank you, kind barista for saving me from ruining my own morning with a cup of oat milk slush (it tastes exactly like what you would expect)

Update: I called the Starbucks to say thank you for not giving me an oat milk slushy and they were very kind. They are aware of the delivery app glitches and figured that was the issue for my order. If you modify your food in delivery apps, double check everything before you place the order! Or you might end up with a bag full of disappointment.

You better go back and tip, if you already didn’t.

End tipping no matter what.

You better not go to any sit-down restaurants.

What's the difference between the server getting paid $20 an hour (no tips) and $20 an hour (equivalent with tips)?

Nothing. The answer is nothing. The employee gets paid the same, and the customer also pays the same. In the second scenario, the customer pays a 20% tip, and in the first, the customer pays no tip but the order is 20% more expensive.

You tip Starbucks employees?

Since I can see them making my drink exactly the way I asked, yes.

Tipping culture is garbage. Source: an European in a tourism-basrd country who has been expected to tip when it isn't even our culture, because tourists do.

Tipping is terrible when it’s forced. If you’re tipping from genuine gratitude and just WANT to be generous, what’s wrong with that?

Again: because it makes the business expect for tips. I'm an European and we don't have tipping culture, but in tourism-heavy areas the employees now expect you to tip thanks to american tourists.

I agree the expectation is bad. But it does feel nice to be generous sometimes and see someone feel appreciated so I’m not against tipping when it’s genuine
