A perfect size for the Dutch.
All jokes aside: its an art piece about climate change. If Amsterdam floods the water will be the same height as the bench.

I believe I have a true story from that exact park. (That bench wasn't there, tho).
If that's the same fountain (somewhere in Vondel Park):
We were sitting on a normal bench, just having had a smoke and were kinda zoned out. Looking out at the calm surface of the water.
Then suddenly something huge started moving UNDER the water - then cascades of water came blasting out through the surface.
YES, a certain uneasiness occured. Of course.
But we quite quickly realized it was the coolest motherfucking fountain we ever had seen! Large metalic parts of the fountain rose out of the water like beasts, twisting and turning, and spreading the water-jets in all kinds of surprising ways and directions.
From hiding under the surface - to givning us Inter-Railers juust that extra afternoon-kick in Amsterdam.

I really love that there’s adults on this bench and not just children!

As a non native speaker, is it “there is adults?” or “there are adults?”

The United States would have put a bed of spikes under the bench to ward off homeless people from sleeping on it and accidentally rolling off.

there probably wasn't a permit to trim the bushes on the side of the pond, so they decided to double up on the bench so you could still see the base of the fountain
