5 QBs in his top 10. That’s crazy

I feel like it’s always like this and then it starts to regress. And then some of these guys fall to even like round 7. I think Nussmeier and Sellers were top 10 at this point last year

It's also Kiper so it's probably just used by the actual teams draft analyst as toilet paper. Trinidad is a great college QB but isn't going in the first unless someone does a major reach. Simmons is definitely a top 10 guy from what he's shown and has the measurables that the NFL loves.

It’s a win-win scenario. Either Austin comes back with the stable of talent returning, or he goes and Mizzou can go out and attract the next great QB to come play with the stable of talent returning.

It is crazy to me that Austin could have only 15 college starts between high school and NFL. Basically the only cope for him staying is his team realizing that great NFL QB's typically also had a ton of college starts as well, and that he can make similar or maybe more money as a CFB superstar.

I like Simmons a lot, but I’d be shocked if he goes in the first round.

He has clear NFL arm talent

I wouldn’t at all. He’s very poised in the pocket, doesn’t panic and can make all the throws. His only turnover came on a pass that got tipped at the LOS and was an int. One of the best QBs in the country tbh.

Insane release speed. Reads defenses. Goes through progression and doesn’t stare his guys down. Good pocket presence, doesn’t bail…

If he was more accurate he’d be a top 3 pick. He’s NFL ready, sorry to say.

And he doesn't need to be a ton more accurate. Just like 10% more.

Been saying for a few weeks we need to prepare for the probability we only get 1 year with Simmons because NFL needs QBs with his skillset

Him playing himself into the first round would mean we win bare minimum 9 games and quite possibly make the playoff, I'd take that any day of the week

Absolutely not complaining

Oh definitely so. I’d like to make a habit of sending guys to the first round.

for me it would have to be minimum 10 games or 9 with playoffs for this to be worth it.

but its def possible.

also more importantly people will stop with the drinkwitz can't scout a good QB nonsense we've been hearing.

If he’s projected 1st round I’d say he’s gone. If it’s looking like he will be later than that at the end of the season, hopefully we can afford to have him return.

The only reason he wouldn’t be a first round pick is lack of experience and that has virtually never mattered. JJ McCarthy couldn’t hold his jock

he has ++ arm strength and accuracy. he’s got the tools

He's been great, but I don't see it. He's still had some stinker moments and think anyone who took him in the first round now would be reaching unless they planned to sit him for a couple of years. He's young for his class and think he'd be best suited starting for another year.

You must not watch games other than Mizzou. If he didn’t play another game he’d probably go late in the first round. 20 year olds rarely play perfect. Hell, 23 year old first round picks don’t. He’s got unicorn tools and by the end of the year will have production

I do and I still say he's a reach. He's got everything on paper, sure. But unicorn tools or not, experience matters. Teams have been burned by drafting guys with 1 year of experience. Again, unless the plan would be to sit him.

May I introduce you to Anthony Richardson. It was a bad pick in real time, but if he was 4th overall Simmons is going #1

I remember laughing at that. He wasn't even good in college. But his "intangibles" 🙄

I think he’s probably in Ty Simpson range where he could go to a decent team in mid 1st to 20s and sit a year or two to develop. Or come back next year and probably be the top pick in the draft. His arm talent is unreal for his age and I don’t remember the last 20 yr old I’ve seen with his tools but he could use another year for consistency in deep accuracy and touch on fades etc.

This could all change if Mizzou were to make the playoffs and he balled out on a national stage like Trinidad last year though.

Mel’s done. Way past his prime.

Aren’t you the guy who was clowning Kiper over Sheduer? But now you are using him to backup your take on Simmons going high? Lol

u/cartgold Graduate 2d ago

Its not that deep bro, its interesting content about our qb for reddit

You’re just pushing a narrative and cherry picking sources

Hello sir, this is college football. Everyone is cherry picking sources and pushing a narrative. Thats kind of all that fans can do?

Some of you don’t realize what a blowhard this guy is I’ll take the downvotes.

Must be a South Pole elf.

u/cartgold Graduate 2d ago

hes the leading ESPN draft analyst but I think I'm gonna start doing this, good idea

1

u/Natural_Sea2711 2d ago

Sheduer had a noodle arm and the whole team was about making him and Travis Hunter look good.

You don’t even understand my comment based on this response

No team is picking an OS wr with the first pick.
