After a series of misfortunes, washed-up television "icon," Blake de Troy (Jack Plotnick) -- best known for his appearances on the long-off-the-air gameshow The Hollywood Surprise -- is rescued from a car accident by his biggest (and only living) fan Antoinette Funk (Rachel Dratch). Bedridden in the Everglades swamps, Blake believes that he's been kidnapped by the sweet-natured but slightly deranged Antoinette. Desperate for a career boost, Blake soon realizes that maybe a kidnapping scandal is just the shameless publicity he's been looking for.

wished she popped up in 30 Rock more as various characters. I know she was originally Jenna Maroney before the network wanted a recast. While Jane Krakowski is fucking perfect in that role, I do feel for Dratch on missing out

She was in every episode of season 1, which was a fun little gimmick. I think any more than that would've felt like a lot.

I believe that was because she had a contract for X number of episodes for the first season, and they had to honour it so she just played someone new in every episode

Even got the sledge hammer on the poster

which is upside down, right? like wouldn't it be top heavy and fall over. but I get that for the sake of the poster, we need to see the hammery part

Yes, I feel like it would slide against the wall and fall

Presumably for the hobbling. Or maybe cobbling. Perhaps they have something very large to put together.

Jack Plotnik is super underrated as an actor and comedian. Add Rachel Dratch and I’m excited for this one!

"Misery" loves company! Get it! Like Stephen King's Misery where the author's Biggest Fan
takes care" of him.

Yes, you likely won’t hear about a guy with a costume on, probably under the early stages of heatstroke.

You know, now that you mention it, the actress in the poster kinda looks like her! 😉

Rachel Dratch. I thought she died. She’s been MIA for like ever.

Nah, she pops up on stuff all the time. She was on Broadway as the Narrator in Rocky Horror until she left just a month or so ago.

I saw her in that! She was fantastic. She had some great zingers in response to the audience call outs, too. She's got the kind of stage presence where you can just tell comedy is effortless to her. At one point she was in a spinny chair just spinning in it randomly during her narration and it was somehow hilarious.

She’s the reason Amy Poehler’s Good Hang immediately became a streaming sensation.

That would be simply cause only haven’t seen her in stuff where as she’s literally still been working

If the soundtrack isn't all pulled from The Mountain Goats "Tallahassee" album what are we even doing here.

So, a rip off of Misery that is named "Loves Company"; there is a famous phrase: "Misery Loves Company". Not even trying to hide it.

Ah yes, a parody of a 40 year old novel starring a washed up SNL actor.
They really captured the zeitgeist with this one.

Never heard of those two actors and also never read a less interesting plot summary tbh.

I kinda love the fact that they have acknowledged that this owes heavily to misery by titling it ‘Loves Company’
