If there were discussions to combine MIB and 21 Jump Street, there should be some way to put Craig, Day-Day, and maybe Smokey into a movie with Harold and Kumar.
Both are New Line properties!

Pretty sure Ice Cube has creative control of his franchise. And I really doubt he'd go for it beyond maybe a small cameo, if that.
40
u/WonderWaage 1d ago
Ice Cube wouldn't wanna do this, but he'd do War of the Worlds (2025). That's your theory?
17
u/KingDarius89 1d ago
The difference is Friday is his creation and he's protective of it. He didn't create war of the worlds. He just got paid for doing that shitty movie.
8
u/fastfreddy68 23h ago
And it had to be a pretty easy sell.
“Mr. Cube, can I call you Ice? Oh I’m sorry, Mr. Cube, we’d like you to star in our remake of WAR OF THE WORLDS! So we’re thinking we sit you in front of a computer and have you read some lines. That’s it. 90 minutes, you looking at a screen. We’ll even just put your lines on the screen! Well, sure we can write some moments for you to get out of the chair, let you stretch your legs.”
6
u/GotMoFans 1d ago
I doubt that Ice Cube owns Friday. I’m sure New Line bought it when the first movie was made.
Otherwise Cube would have made Last Friday years ago.

I will get High and watch this masterpiece!
39
u/The_Violent_Phlegms 1d ago
I'm already high, just patiently waiting
13
u/chiefminestrone 1d ago
Make sure you stay high until you've seen the movie or else it doesn't count.

I know it would be almost next to impossible but it would dope for a smaller movie theater to do a stoner screening.
2
u/TomBradysStatue 1d ago
I've had a dream for some time about a stoner movie theater / arcade space. The community could even show their own weird movies maybe Friday or Saturday evening. Probably a stupid idea tho. GOD IM SO STUPID! IDIOT!

I'm gonna be honest. I had no idea there was a Harold and Kumar 2, let alone a Harold and Kumar 3.
•
u/indamoufofmadness 2h ago
That's a shame. Escape from Guantanamo Bay was fantastic. The Christmas one, less so.

u/_realLazyBones 1d ago edited 1d ago
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas was a very fun threequel. Glad the franchise is making a comeback.
133
u/ForrestFuller39 1d ago
Hopefully Neil Patrick Harris will also be in this as well.

u/ontheweed 1d ago
He better be. He has a line in part three about seeing the guys in the “fourth one”. Waffle Bot better be in the movie as well.

Didn’t he die?
Edit: I’m talking movie NPH, not real NPH.
64
u/ontheweed 1d ago edited 1d ago
NPH gets thrown out of heaven because he steals all the girls from Jesus.
This is canon.
4
30
u/j0llyllama 1d ago
He died in the first one (shot while fleeing the whorehouse), but came back anyways.
20
u/ayoholdup 1d ago
No he got shot in the second one, but the post-credit scene shows him getting up, which explains why he’s still in the Christmas special
6
u/ontheweed 1d ago edited 23h ago
They also have a full explanation in the third movie of how he is back. Harold and Kumar directly ask him and he tells them, which shows the scene in heaven with Jesus.

u/Davidudeman 1d ago
no, his career did though
20
u/SoCalThrowAway7 1d ago
Isn’t he making how I met your mother money forever at this point? I think he’ll be alright lol
9
u/ontheweed 1d ago
One of the last sitcoms where the cast cashed in on syndication royalties. I think big bang theory was the last one officially, before the union changed things. Streaming also really destroyed syndication for sitcoms.

u/Low-Quality-144 1d ago
It's because he's a huge gaping asshole of a man. A real nasty fella.
7
u/No_Strike655 1d ago
Based on? I know some weirdos on here can't get over the Winehouse thing he has apologized for multiple times but otherwise I've never heard anything except that
-2
-2
u/Rich_Housing971 1d ago
Which is why he'll be happy to be in this movie, probably begging the studio to do it for free. It'll be win-win.

u/Lonely_Noyaaa 1d ago
I hope they bring back Neil Patrick Harris. He was the best part of the second movie. The franchise works when it is dumb and self aware. Just give me the same energy.
33
14
u/sybrwookie 16h ago
It's best to move forward, not backwards on jokes like that. Yes, be dumb and self aware. No, don't try to member berry your way into making that joke funny again.
6
u/moviebuffbrad 11h ago
But he's arguably the third biggest character. It wouldn't feel the same without him.
39
u/filthysize 1d ago
They get high off legal lab-optimized 50mg edibles and because they are 50 years old they immediately take a nap. Roll credits.
13
u/2inchesofsteel 19h ago
I mean yeah that's kind of exactly how Friday night is going here and I'll tell you it's not bad
27
12
5
u/Hi_Im_Ken_Adams 1d ago
At this point, the movie could be about John Cho and Paula Garcés kids going on a weed binge.
18
14
u/KingDarius89 1d ago
...there's already been 3 of them?
8
u/multiplebaskets 1d ago
All 3 are good, rare for a comedy like this, like super troopers, anchorman, dumb and dumber etc sequels are meh, but the original Harold and Kumar, the Guantanamo one and the Christmas one bring it.
22
u/curiousplatypus25 1d ago
First is the best, second is quite fun too, the third is a Christmas movie and quite bad.
21
u/mostdope28 1d ago
I always thought 1 was awesome, 2 sucked and the Christmas one was good again. But it’s been over 10 years since I’ve watched
13
u/curiousplatypus25 1d ago
Maybe the quality of the green you smoked before each movie decides the quality !

u/BeefyQueefyCletus 1d ago
2 is one of the most overtly racist movies I've ever seen but it's fuckin hilarious. Everyone is in on the joke.
3
u/joegetto 1d ago
I watched the second one when it first came out on video at the airport on a massive delay for a flight on my iPod video.
I remember cracking up so much I had to restrain myself from laughing.
When I got home I had my roommate watch it with me and let’s just say if you need to watch it the best place is at the airport on a massive delay.
3
14
u/depredador93 1d ago
Wait, they made a third one?
15
u/JazzOcarina 1d ago
It's currently on my Christmas movie rotation. Watch it during the holidays, you won't be disappointed.
22
10
u/ConvenienceStoreDiet 1d ago
I saw it in theaters in 3D lol. It was just me and like two other people in the theater, it was one of my favorite movie watches ever.
6
u/tasiewbao 22h ago
At least there was 3 of you in there. I watched Meet the Fockers alone in the middle of the day in a Times Square theater. Staff checked several times to see if I was still there.
3
u/ConvenienceStoreDiet 17h ago
It's kind of a fun blessing to get a whole theater to yourself. It feels like being a king just for a second, even if there are just a few of you in there.
•
u/mikeweasy 53m ago
As a broke college student I spent like 30 dollars to see it back then but it was still worth it lol
11
u/CommentsOnOccasion 1d ago
Yeah it’s a Christmas Special
Kinda weird but definitely still stonery style fun
NPH carries as always (with a cameo from his IRL husband)
They’re all fun in their own way, though the third one is particularly fever dreamish

u/Beneficial_Emu696 18h ago
Thomas Lennon and Danny Trejo. Infants on cocaine. A great holiday tradition
3
u/Garbage_Man_9 6h ago
Honestly we need more wacky drug fueled Xmas movies lol. H&K3 and ‘the night before’ get watched every year in our house. Along with Santa jaws and Santa’s slay.
•
u/Beneficial_Emu696 5h ago
Bad Santa- Alcohol
Night Before- Mushrooms
H&K- Weed & Cocaine
Elf- sugar
It’s A Wonderful Life- Heroin10
u/SuperRadDeathNinja 1d ago
NPH is amazing in the 3rd
5
u/IndecisiveTuna 21h ago
NPH is amazing in 2 as well.
4
8
u/IAmPandaRock 1d ago
Really? It's great. Probably better than #2
5
u/Garbage_Man_9 6h ago
It is. Watch them again and 2 hasn’t aged well, the jokes sent offensive they’re just kinda lazy and of their time. 3 is actually a good satire of Xmas movies and has a baby running around on cocain

I've never been this excited to learn that an entire movie exists that I've never heard of. The first two movies are such good dumb fun and the kind of movies you don't really get any more.
Had no idea they even did a third.

u/Ssme812 20h ago
It was Christmas theme and in 3D.

I'm honestly so happy. The only thing that sucked is that the comedy style shifted so much from the first movie. Bring that style back.

u/BoringAccount4Work 1d ago
A couple of months ago I was joking with my wife that I would be down to see a "Harold and Kumar Have Kids". No clue about a main plot but a side story of trying to stop NPH being a bad influence on them.
I know that won't be the plot for this one, I'm just surprised a random thought I had is happening
2
u/BeefyQueefyCletus 1d ago
No, they'll have kids and the kids will get high. Hijinks ensue, Roldy and Kumar come out of retirement to rescue their kids.
Neil Patrick Harris kidnaps the kids. Calling it now.
2
u/ExoMonk 15h ago
No no. The wives are on a ladies weekend leaving the guys with the kids. The kids will have bought the weed but got caught. They get grounded and Roldy and Kumar smoke their stash and unintentionally go on a crazy adventure but have to be back before the wives get home. The kids are home alone and find super old stash to smoke and then they have to fend off burglars home alone style. They eventually get rescued by the neighbor Freakshow.

u/TheDevilBear3 19h ago
Maybe them coping with the fact that younger generations aren't seeing weed as desirable or cool as their generation did, so they enact a campaign to spread weed awareness to the entire country? All the funniest movies are road trip movies, perfect format. And we know they love weed enough to daydream about having a shitty marriage with a bag of weed.
1
u/AndySocial88 18h ago
NPH shows up right at the end, he saves the day unintentionally and then fucks off like it's just a moment in his day and doesn't recognize anyone he's met before in the franchise.
2
u/Kind_Of_A_Dick 9h ago
I hope it’s a surreal horror movie like In The Mouth Of Madness but with weed.
2
u/AdOrnery8950 1d ago
heck yes. you could do a lot of fun stuff with these characters getting older.
2
u/Newwavecybertiger 1d ago
I am expecting a moment where they warn their children about drugs and then proceed to get blasted

People do not know there was a third Harold and Kumar movie.
People like the second one, which is nice because it got kind of a bad rap when it came out
Everyone but a few weirdos want more Neil Patrick Harris

Please don’t! Leave it where it was it will never be as good as the original ones after all those years. Those movies were there cause of specific time, now it’ll be just a cash grab on memberberries….

u/Awkward_Bison_267 1d ago
3 was bad though. Hopefully 4 will redeem the series.
2
u/Odd_Status3367 1d ago
Kind of feels pointless when weed is legal in some capacity across over half the country and it's (barely) arguably more popular among young people than alcohol is right now. Like the first 2 movies are all about how weed was hard to get and still a taboo. Now everyone I know with kids smokes their dispensary bought turboWeed when the kiddos are put to bed for the night

Might be why I spend so many holidays alone...

Harold and Kumar 3 ironically had the best 3d visuals I had ever seen in a movie.
